Windsor-West Hants Behind the Badge
Between Monday, April 14 and Sunday, April 20, Windsor District RCMP responded to a total of 93 calls for service. There were seven false alarms and eight misdialed 911 calls.

Police are investigating three reports of assault, seven complaints of uttering threats, two reports of disturbing the peace as well as two complaints of harassment.

Looking at property-related offences, Windsor District RCMP received five reports of theft, six reports of break and enter and five complaints of damage to property.

Police are reminding everyone to ensure property is secured and encourage anyone to report any suspicious activity. Don't make theft an easy job for the bad guy!

Windsor District RCMP investigated eight incidents involving motor vehicle collisions and received 10 complaints related to traffic offences. During this reporting period, police are happy to report there were no impaired driving offences reported and hope that this is a result of people thinking twice before getting behind the wheel after consuming alcohol.

Turning to the CrimeStoppers report, Windsor District RCMP continue to investigate a number of break and entries and seek help from the public to solve these crimes.

Between Sunday, March 30 and Friday, April 4, persons broke into a vacant residence on Highway #14 near Brooklyn on two occasions. Some items stolen include an elephant clock, carved wooden bellows with a man's face, brass dragon candles, brass figural candlesticks and a blue pottery vase. Estimated value of these items is $600.

Windsor District RCMP is also investigating an attempted break and enter into a residence on Albert Street in Windsor that occurred Monday, April 14 at approximately 10 p.m. No entry was gained into the residence, but it appears the rear of the residence was the target.

Anyone with information on these crimes and who would like to remain anonymous can contact CrimeStoppers anytime at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS). Calls to CrimeStoppers are not taped or traced and if police make an arrest and lay charges based on the tip, callers qualify for a cash award from $50 to $2000.
