Youngster dies after fall from cliff
A 14-year-old-boy is dead following a fall Thursday evening from a cliff near Timpany Lane at Rossway on Digby Neck.
Keith Trimper had been riding an ATV with another 14-year-old boy when he got off and walked to the cliff’s edge. Police said soft ground gave way and the boy fell about 40 feet.
The accident occurred shortly before 8 p.m.
Paramedics, firefighters and police worked to save the youth’s life, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival at Annapolis Royal Community Health Centre.
Grief counselors are at Digby Regional High and Digby Elementary schools today to offer help to those who may need it. His mother Lisa Trimper is employed at the elementary school.
RCMP are warning people that soft ground conditions in spring make it especially important to remain well back of cliffsides.
