April 13 to April 19, 2008 continued Evelyn Adelia Arenburg – 92, formerly of Coldbrook and Berwick, passed away Friday, April 18, 2008 in Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville. Born in Billtown and brought up in Lakeville, she was a daughter of the late Grant and Lillian (Rockwell) Corbett. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. She enjoyed knitting, playing cards, especially 45’s, and had been seasonally employed picking apples. She is survived by three daughters, Gladys Keddy, North Sydney; Nettie (Henry) Zielke, British Columbia; Doris (Douglas) Sim, Nictaux; a son, Joseph (Tammy), Coldbrook; a sister, Ethel Trevors, Lakeville; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Trueman Rufus Arenburg; two grandsons, Justin Arenburg and Stefan Zielke; a son-in-law, Gordon Keddy; two sisters; Edith Eaton and Kathleen Saunders; five brothers, Guy, John, Roland, Rufus and Norman. There was no visitation by Evelyn’s request. The funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2008 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Robert Billings officiated. Burial took place in the Lakeview Cemetery, Lakeville. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Valley Regional Hospital, the Children’s Wish Foundation or Evergreen Home for Special Care. April 13 to April 19, 2008 continued Isabel May Addington – 83, of Kentville, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2008 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born on July 30, 1924 in Canning, she was a daughter of the late John and Blanche (Spicer) Thomson. Isabel was a homemaker and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her home and family were very important to her and she loved to knit mittens for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a life member of Trinity United Church, Canning, participating in church activities and a member of the choir for many years. She was also involved in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Canning Volunteer Fire Department. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, George Addington; two daughters, Louise Smith (Ron), Dartmouth; Carolyn Butters (John), Maitland; four grandchildren, Brent, Scott, John and Christa; five great grandchildren, Logan, Kaiya, Kayla, Ruby and Tyler; a great great granddaughter, Elise; a sister, Mary Barkhouse, Canning; a brother, Robert Thomson, Canning; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Nona Weisner; a brother, William Thomson. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville and at Isabel’s request, there was no visitation. A family graveside service will be held at a later date in the Hillaton Cemetery, Kings County. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. April 13 to April 19, 2008 continued Rickey Allen Pelton - 47, Waterville, Kings Co. passed away Wednesday April 16, 2008, at home. Born in Berwick, Kings Co., he was a son of Douglas “Doug” Pelton, Berwick, and Marguerite “Honey” Reeves, Waterville. Rickey had been employed by George Floris for many years and had worked at Archibald Farms Ltd. in Port Williams. Besides his parents, Rickey is survived by a son, Trevor Pelton, Cambridge Station; daughter, Amanda Pelton, Welsford; granddaughter, Jaydon Pelton; brothers, Chris (Debora) Pelton, Ste. Croix; Darrell Pelton, Waterville; sisters, Diana (James) Brothers, Greenwood; Darlene (Kevin) Kenneally, Harbourville; Elizabeth (Jeff Joudrey) Pelton, South Berwick; Rebecca (Keith) Pulsifer, Waterville; several nieces & nephews. Visitation took place 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Saturday April 19, in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900), from where the funeral service was held 2 p.m. Sunday April 20. Rev. Donald Rafuse officiated.
