Fire destroys barn
A barn fire sent smoke billowing from Shore Road in Western Head on April 16.
The owner went outside to find the building on fire.
The Liverpool Fire Department responded to the fire around 12:15 p.m. with the assistance of the Department of Natural Resources because the fire extended into a wooded area.
Deputy Chief David Payzant said, “when crews arrived the barn was fully engulfed.”
Contents of the barn included a lawnmower, two all-terrain vehicles and general storage items.
“The building was a total loss and it melted the siding on his home,” added Payzant.
An employee from the Provincial Fire Marshall’s Office was on the scene April 17.
