Stakeholders from local groups, as well as government partners, have formed an Advisory Board and Steering Committee to prepare a proposal to submit to UNESCO to have the Grand Pré Cultural Landscape recognized as a World Heritage Site.
Kings Community Economic Development Agency and the Municipality of the County of Kings are seeking a highly motivated and community oriented Heritage Planner to work on this project.
This challenging position requires an enthusiastic individual who has an exceptional ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to diverse audiences. Excellent organizational and project management skills are essential. Although previous planning experience is desired, you must be a strong team player that can maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders and consistently meet assigned timelines.

Seeking UNESCO Volunteers
Stakeholders are preparing a dossier to submit to UNESCO to have the Grand Pré Cultural Landscape recognized as a World Heritage Designation. The Kings Community Economic Development Agency and Société promotion Grand-Pré (SPGP) co-chair the Nomination Grand-Pré Advisory Board. The Board includes local groups as well as government partners. The Nomination Grand-Pré Advisory Board meets monthly to provide strategic direction for the project.
The advisory board is seeking two community representatives to become volunteer members. Interested applications will be reviewed and selected by the Interim Board of the Grand Pre and Area Community Association and ratified by a public meeting to be held in May 2008.
Additionally, the project requires volunteers to participate on the following working groups: Outstanding Universal Value, Land-use and Management, Documentation and Research and Community Events. Completed applications must be received by 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2008.
