Historic Gardens Spring Clean-up

April 17-18 Join the crew to help clean up the grounds and ready the Gardens for Spring. Saturday is weather dependent, but Apr 14-18 will happen rain or shine. Come anytime between 9am-4pm. Further information: 532-7018.

Student Art Fair

April 17 Valley Student Art Fair opens 7 p.m., Thursday, April 17 at the Macdonald Museum, Middleton. This great show features artwork from Valley school children from Windsor to Digby.

Exhibit continues until May 5. No admission throughout the exhibit period. Sponsored by the Annapolis Valley Regional School Board. Call the Museum for more details at 825-6116.

VON Lunch Bunch

April 17 The VON Lunch Bunch gets together at St Luke’s Anglican Church in Annapolis Royal on April 17. Bring a friend and join us for good food, pleasant conversation and entertainment. Support Group

Free Lunch

April 18 Who says there’s no free lunch? Emmanuel Congregational Christian Church, 37 Gates Ave, Middleton, will provide a luncheon of soup, rolls, dessert coffee and tea on April 18 from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. for any who wish to attend. Admission is free. An opportunity will be provided for those who would like to make a free will offering. All welcome.

April 19 Two sittings: 12 noon – 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Milford & Area Community Hall, South Milford. Menu: fluffy pancakes with local pure maple syrup, home baked beans, canned pickles, assorted homemade cream pies and beverages. (Take-outs available) Bake table pantry sale. Proceeds for the Milford Hall.

Bean Supper

April 19 Come to a Baked bean supper including scallop potato, ham, brown bread, dessert, tea or coffee, at the Hillsburn 4H Hall starting at 5:00 pm. Price $7 per person. Proceeds for upkeep of hall.

Casserole and salad supper

April 19 at Springfield Fire Hall from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Adults, $7; 6-12 years, $3, 5 and under, free. Proceeds for the Baptist Church.

April 24 The Annapolis Royal and District Unit of the Canadian Cancer Society will host Celebration of Hope, April 24 at the Baptist Church First United, Annapolis Royal at 7:30 p.m. Guest speaker is Jim How, Annapolis Royal.

April 26 Musical Variety Show, with lots of wonderful local talent, at the Port George Rec. Centre at 7:30. Admission is $5 (children 12 and under are free). April 26 The Bi-yearly IODE Rummage Sale will take place, Saturday April 26 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Nova Scotia Community College, Annapolis Campus, Middleton. This is a fundraiser for the Chapter and monies go to charitable work throughout the Annapolis Valley.

Adults $ 10, ages four to 12 - $ 5, three and under eat for free. This will be held at the Deep Brook Parish Hall, and is sponsored by the Bear River East Baptist Church. Bridgetown Market

May 13 The Bridgetown Market will open this spring on May 13 at 160 South St., from 3:30 to 7 p.m. The market is open to all vendors, but will concentrate on local farm products, crafts, baked and other food products. For more information, call Lewis at 665-2029 or 665-4865 before 6 p.m.
