The Ostomy Support Group is holding a meeting opened to ostomates, their families and the general public, Tuesday, April 15, at the Yarmouth Hospital in the Ruth and Irving Pink Conference Room at 7:30 p.m. Guest speaker : Darolyn Walker, Cancer Patient Navigator, Colorectal Examinations

The Yarmouth Area Cancer Support Group will meet Wednesday, April 16, at 7 p.m. at the Sobey’s Room, Starrs Road. April’s meeting will pay homage to those members recently lost, a celebration of their lives. All those with cancer and their caregivers/loved ones are invited to attend. C areer expo

There will be a career expo “Let’s get ready to work” in the Ecole scondaire de Par-en-Bas, Tusket, Wednesday April 16 from 3:30 until 6 p.m. Admission free. The fair will provide students and the public with an opportunity to dialogue with exhibitors from various sectors of the workplace.

History program

April 21

Fun with Port Maitland area history and Ellis House Hotel at Port Maitland fire hall, Monday, April 21, 7 p.m. Off beat facts about the history of the area, following a brief annual meeting of the Old Beaver River and Port Maitland Cemeteries Preservation Society. Admission free.





Sports heritage meeting

The annual general meeting of the Yarmouth Town and County Sports Heritage Association will be held at the Firefighters’ Museum on Thursday, April 17 at 7 p.m.

Open mic/washers

April 18/19

There will be a free open mic with Blue Country at Le Club Acadien in SAR on Friday, April 18, at 8. And on Saturday, April 19, at the club there will be indoor washers ($5 a person, teams picked at 7.) Members and guests.

Flea market and bake sale

April 19

A flea market, bake sale and face painting sessions, sponsored by the Yarmouth Lionettes, will be held at the Yarmouth Lion’s Club on Saturday, April 19, 8 a.m. to noon.

South Ohio spring tea

April 19

Spring tea at the South Ohio Community Centre on April 19 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Adults $4, children 12 and under $2. Bake table and book sale. Anyone wishing to donate or help can call Emily Lent at 742-4723.

Bean supper

April 19

The Lake Vaughan Fire Department auxillary is having a fundraiser bean supper Saturday, April 19, at the Lake Vaughan fire hall from 5-7 p.m. Cost is $7 per person. Game night to follow from 7-9 p.m.

Gospel concert

April 19

The Salvation Army Yarmouth Community Church will be the scene of a gospel concert featuring local talent on April 19 at 7 p.m. Free will offering will be taken. Proceeds for roof repairs for the Rose of Sharon Church.

Breakfast

The Wedgeport and District Volunteer Fire Department breakfast will be held April 20 at the Wedgeport and District Fire Department hall, Wedgeport from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Cost: $5 plate, $12 family with children under 10 years old.

Community breakfast

The Knights of Columbus will be holding a community breakfast on Sunday, April 20, from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at their hall on Collins Street. Donations will be accepted at the door.

Blood pressure session

What’s Up With High Blood Pressure? – Learn practical ways to help achieve blood pressure control at a free public education session, presented by a nurse and a dietitian, Tuesday, April 22, 6-8 p.m. at the YMCA on Main Street in Yarmouth. A go fly a kite event will take place on
