Successful Spartan 5K Run/Walk
On April 6, 82 runners and walkers enjoyed a cool spring afternoon participating in the third annual Spartan 5K Run/Walk sponsored by North Queens Rural High, Caledonia.
Walkers and runners came from across the South Shore and Valley to compete in this very successful fundraiser in support of North Queens athletic extracurricular programs.

The athletic committee organizers were pleased with the number of participants, in this the third year of the event.

Participants ranged from the serious runners looking for a warm-up event for the busy Run Nova Scotia Road Race season to the casual walkers happy to participate for their health and in support of a good cause.

A lunch and award ceremony followed in which medals and numerous door prizes were presented, creating an enjoyable conclusion to the event.

To the students, staff, parents, and community members who competed, congratulations and thank you for your support.

The Athletic Committee extends their sincere gratitude to the following major sponsors; Scotia McLeod, McGowan Lake Fish Hatchery, Ponhook Lodge, Medicine Cabinet Pharmacy, and Michelin, as well as those who contributed the numerous door prizes in support of the event. See you next year.
