The boys of Faded Blue topped the East Coast Countdown Charts the same week they were in Queens County recording a few songs for their upcoming album.
“Tyler and I started the band pretty much four years ago almost to the day,” said drummer Bryan Page. “We started with just writing songs together playing in my bedroom with no amps, no anything just an acoustic guitar and a set of drums.”

The boys were hard at work at Feswick Productions located in Broad River from April 3 – 6.

When asked what keeps them coming back to Liverpool, Gauthier shouted “Tim Feswick!” with a laugh.

“The South Shore of Nova Scotia is our second home,” declared Page. “Over the last two or three years this town has become such a hub for the music community.”

Plus the area is beautiful, added Gauthier pointing out the river behind the recording studio.

The pair recorded Faded Blue’s debut CD two years ago called “The Blue Mountain Gate.”

Today the band consists of four members, Bryan Page as drummer, Tyler Lopez as lead singer, Mark Clazie on bass and Nick Gauthier on lead guitar.

Page feels they have grown, matured and he’d like to think they are smarter now.

“I always say this band is a learning process so the further we get the more we learn and the better we can become,” he said.

The new album is going to be a step above the last one, Page said with confidence. They hope to release the CD in September.

Describing their music as fun, pop, rock with an element of folk, they focus on the positive when writing songs.

“We go for a more positive perspective of whatever we write about, we don’t write about downer stuff,” said Lopez. “We’re firm believers that when you listen to music it should make you feel good.”

Faded Blue was number one on the East Coast Countdown the first week in April and they are “lovin’ it,” said Gauthier.

“It’s just fun to know we’re number one somewhere,” added Page.

Faded Blue will perform at the Mersey House April 11 and April 12.

They will also be performing at the South Shore Big Exhibition, Privateer Days and Riverfest this summer.
