March 30 to April 5, 2008 WOOD, Deborah Elizabeth “Debbie”, 58, of Yarmouth, formerly of Shelburne, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2008, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Lockeport, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Eleanor (Foster) Williams. Deborah attended Hope Wesleyan Church, Shelburne and the Salvation Army of Yarmouth. She was very much a people’s person and liked to play Bingo. She volunteered and would sell tickets to help out the local animal shelter, and gave freely of her time to the Shelburne County Arena canteen. She is survived by her husband, David, Yarmouth; son, Roderick (Karen), Jordan Branch; daughters, Karen (Kevin) Williams, Jordan Branch; Teresa (Hastings Guy) Conrad, Shelburne; step-children, Jody, Alberta; Sandra, Dartmouth; Kimberley, Toronto, Ont.; Terrance, Yarmouth; brothers, Gene (Gail) Williams, East Jordan; Philip (Wendy) Williams, Alberta; sister, Marsha (Douglas) Chetwynd, Lockeport; grandchildren, Daniel, Dustin, Dilan, Lane and Matthew; several step-grandchildren. She was predeceased by brother, Richard. A memorial service was held on Wednesday, April 2 in the Hope Wesleyan Church, Sandy Point with Pastor Ed Otis officiating. Interment of ashes in Lockeport Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association. March 30 to April 5, 2008 Frederickson, Doris Loretta - 94, Spryfield, on March 31, 2008, she passed on peacefully under the comforting hand of God. Born in Yarmouth Co., on December 9, 1913, she moved to Halifax and was a long time resident of Spryfield since 1935. Doris was a long standing member of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Spryfield. She is survived by her loving and devoted grandson, Stanley, Spryfield; brother, George, Yarmouth; nephew, Stephen Cook, Halifax; as well as many grand nieces and nephews. She had two sisters, Gladys and Marion, one of which has passed on. She was predeceased in heaven by her loving husband, Villiam; her beautiful daughter, Joan F. Dove; and brother, Charles. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., Spryfield, (477-5601), visitation was held 2-6 p.m. Friday, April 4. Funeral service was held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 5 at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Fr. Jerry Gauvreau as Celebrant. She will rest beside her Danish husband, the late Villiam Hans Christian Federiksen, at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville. March 30 to April 5, 2008 STULTZ, John Daniels - 84 of Lawrencetown, NS, passed away, Monday, March 31, 2008 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Hackensack, New Jersey, he was a son of the late Nelson and Minnie (Daniels) Stultz. John worked until his retirement for C.R. Beals Meats & Groceries, Lawrencetown as a meat cutter. He was a past deputy chief with the Lawrencetown and District Volunteer Fire Department; a former commissioner with the Village of Lawrencetown; veteran of the Second World War; member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #112 Lawrencetown; past member of the Lawrencetown United Baptist Church choir, the Lawrencetown Men’s Choir; past custodian and director of Fairview Cemetery, Lawrencetown. John was also an avid naturalist, photographer, and amateur local historian. He loved spending time at his property in Inglisville and his camp in Roxbury, working with his market garden and roadside stand, growing vegetables, making maple syrup and his Christmas wreaths. He is survived by his daughter, Rosemary (Jim) Jotcham, Somerset, NS; grandchildren, Catherine Jotcham, Somerset; Andrew (Julie) Jotcham, Coldbrook; great grandson, Keagan and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Marion Slauenwhite and brother, Vernon. Visitation was held Tuesday, April 1, it began with a Legion Tribute conducted by Royal Canadian Legion, Lawrencetown Branch # 112 all in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448. A graveside service was held at Wednesday, April 2 in the Fairview Cemetery, Lawrencetown. Rev. Barbara Bishop officiated, followed by a reception in the Lawrencetown United Baptist Church Hall. March 30 to April 5, 2008 FADER, Kenneth Holmes - 78, of New Grafton, Queens County passed away suddenly, Tuesday, April 1, 2008 in Caledonia. Born in New Grafton, he was the son of the late Steward and Daisy (Forrest) Fader. Kenny worked in the lumber industry all his life and retired a lumber grader and tallyman with Douglas Lumber Mill in Caledonia. He was past president and director of Queens County Fair for many years and a former member of the North Queens Fire Association. He was president of the New Grafton Community Association and served as an elder of St. Paul’s United Church in Maitland Bridge. He was an active volunteer for many organizations. Kenny was a member and past master of Mechanics Lodge #78, Caledonia, past high priest of Rossignol Chapter #6 Royal Arch in Liverpool and past Thrice Illustrious Master of Austin Bentley Council in Annapolis. He was a 32 degree mason of the Scottish rite and was a member of the Antiquity Perceptory Knights Templar and Philae Temple in Halifax. He was also past patron of Pearle Chapter # 71 Order of Eastern Star, Caledonia. He is survived by his daughters Rhonda, at home; Lori (Joe) Wamback of New Grafton; sons: Noel (Brenda) and Kevin, both of Calgary; Stewart (Pam) of Hemford Forest and Joseph (Sherry) of New Grafton; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren; sister Linda (Terry) Pearson of Wolfville; and brother Robert (Sally) of White Point. Funeral service was held Saturday, April 5, 2008 in St. Paul’s United Church, Maitland Bridge. Pastor Tom Watson officiated. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery, Maitland Bridge. March 30 to April 5, 2008 SISCO, James Ralph - 95, Lockhartville, Kings Co., passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2008, in Windsor Elms Senior Citizens Home. Born on January 17, 1913, in Yarmouth, he was a son of the late Engles and Viola (Keiling) Sisco. He worked as a interior decorator and painter in Hantsport for many years, and he had also worked at Minas Basin Pulp and Power at one time. He enjoyed gardening. James was also the caretaker at the Hantsport Cemetery. He went to sea at the young age of 13 on the Windjamer to Norway and West Indies. He is survived by sons, Harold, Lockhartville; Fred (Carol), Three Mile Plains; Gerald (Sharon), Fredericton, N.B.; daughters, Aileen Johnston; Lockhartville; Alice Caffatos (Pantelis), Oxford; Audrey Briggs (Thomas), Lockhartville; Ann Safire (Robert), Dartmouth; Dorothy Brown (Lyle), Lockhartville; Sharon Rivest (Rheal), Bryson, Quebec; Pauline Kyle (Patrick), Peterborough, Ont.; 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; brother, Clyde, Montreal; and sister, Faye, Ont. James was predeceased by his wife, Ethel Mabel Louise (Neil); son, Ivan; daughter, Margaret; 17 brothers and sisters. March 30 to April 5, 2008 Angie Spaulding Patterson - 100, Dartmouth formerly of Berwick, Kings Co. The family announces the passing of their beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, into the presence of her Lord and Saviour in Oakwood Terrace Home for Special Care, Dartmouth, on Tuesday, April 1, 2008. Born in West Berwick on December 28, 1907, she was a daughter of the late John Powers and Ella (Borden) Powers. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She lived in Berwick until 1984 at which time she moved to Dartmouth to be near her family. She resided with her daughter, Marjorie and son-in-law, Claude Whynot, from 2002 until entering Oakwood Terrace in November 2007, where she celebrated her 100th birthday on December 28, 2007. She was a life member of the Nova Scotia and National Women's Christian Temperance Union. She was a former member of the Berwick Baptist Church and the Bible Baptist Church, Greenwood. At the time of her death she was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Dartmouth. She is survived by daughters, Marjorie (Claude) Whynot, Dartmouth, and Joyce Tripp, Endwell, N.Y.; grandchildren, Diana O'Connell (Robert MacLellan) Stewiacke; Clarence (Susan) Whynot, Dartmouth; Stephen Bizilia, North Carolina; Carolyn Bizilia, Virginia; Susan Ligas, New York, and Lori (Todd) McCarthy, New York; great-grandchildren, Meghan MacLellan, Dylan Whynot, Eden Ligas, Andrew Ligas, Max McCarthy, and Mia McCarthy. She was predeceased by her husband, Percy in 1973; brother, Vernon Powers; sisters, Mildred Burbidge, Nina Boyd, Elsie Chase, and Edna Oickle. March 30 to April 5, 2008 Norma Eudora Chase - 89, Berwick, Kings Co. passed away Wednesday April 2, 2008, in the Grand View Manor, Berwick, Born in Harmony, Kings Co. she was a daughter of the late Hardy and Nellie (Prime) Morse. Norma was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother & great-grandmother. She had worked at Lone Pine Farms for many years. Norma was an avid reader, enjoyed doing the Lexicon Puzzle and babysitting. She had been a resident at Cottage Court in Berwick for 18 years before moving to Grand View Manor. Surviving are sons, Donald (Alva) Chase, West Berwick; Bruce (Faye) & Rickey Chase (Rosemary Budgell), all of Windermere; daughters, Phyllis Foster (Alfred Bezanson), Wilmot; Sandra Gates (Bob Lunn), Cambridge Station; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Allen Chase; daughter, Maxine in infancy; granddaughter, Brenda Lee; grandson, Gregory Chase; brothers, Elwood & Gordon Morse; sisters, Neva Savage; Marion Morton. Visitation for Norma was held 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Saturday April 5, in the H.C.
