Wintersleep wins Juno Award
It was a dream night for Wintersleep, the Halifax-based band that features Yarmouth natives Paul Murphy and Tim d'eon, at the 2008 Juno Awards in Calgary.
The indie rockers won the award for best new group, topping the likes of Dragonette, Faber Drive and illScarlett.
The band is on tour and receiving critical praise for its latest album, Welcome to the Night Sky, which was just released in Japan.
After Juno weekend the group is scheduled to play several shows in western Canada before heading to the U.K. for a two-week tour through Scotland and England, which will include an appearance at the Great Escape festival in Brighton.
