Daffodil Days

April 2-5 The Canadian Cancer Society will be selling their bright daffodils on April 2-5 in Middleton. Bunches of flowers are $6. We will be located at Save Easy in Middleton, Valley Drug Mart, and Price Chopper. Pre-sales for businesses/large groups are available by calling Sharon Hamilton at 825-6103.

Support Group

April 3 & 17 The Canadian Metal Health Association (CMHA) invites interested persons to attend a depression support group held at 38 Queen St., Bridgetown at 1 p.m. For more info, call 526-2456 or 665-4801.

Drama - Pinocchio

April 3 at Bridgetown Regional Elementary School the Drama Group presents Pinocchio directed by Kelly Spurr at 7 p.m. Freewill offering at the door.

Coffee House

April 3 The Valley Gay Men’s Coffee House meets weekly on Thurs., from 7-9 p.m. On April 5 come out to the 5th year anniversary of the Bi Dance. Please call 825-3197 for location.

Jiggs Dinner

April 3 Come for supper at the Holy Trinity Church Hall in Middleton from 4:30 to 6:15. Enjoy a Jiggs Dinner of corned beef, cabbage, vegetables and all the fixings, adults $10 and children under 12, $7. Sponsored by the Church’s fundraising committee.

Science Exhibit

April 3 Great Maritime Achievers in Science and Technology exhibit, opens April 3 at Macdonald Museum, Middleton. Come in to see this traveling, interactive exhibit for a hands-on learning experience. Great for kids. Children 12 years old and younger do not pay admission. School

Daffodil sales

April 3 Daffodil Sales for the Annapolis Royal & District Unit of the Canadian Cancer Society will be available April 3. Anyone wishing to order, may call Tom Bartlett at 532-5145 or Norma Grant at 532-5247.

Spring Bingo

April 4 Come support the Lawrencetown Consolidated School at their Spring Bingo, doors open at 6 p.m., Bingo starts at 7 p.m. All books are $5 each, also cookie jar, 50/50 draw, door prizes and canteen. Special activities for school aged children. Everyone welcome!

Grad Fundraiser

April 5 The AWEC Graduating Class is holding an Indoor Yard Sale at the Annapolis Fire Hall between 10 and 3. This includes the several yard sale tables, ticket raffles, bake sale and more. To book your table ($15), call Louise at 532-7781 or Heather at 638-8879.

Hospital fundraiser

April 5 A special stuffed Roast Pork Dinner will be held at the Middleton Fire Hall from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.. Chef duties provided by 14 Wing Greenwood. Proceeds to assist Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital Auxiliary in purchasing medical equipment.

Card Party

April 5 Come play 45’s at 7:30 p.m. at the Hampton Community Hall.

Chinese Auction

April 5 A Chinese Auction will be held Saturday, April 5, Macdonald Museum, Middleton, beginning at 10 a.m. Many great items and local business gift certificates to be won. Proceeds to aid the museum. Need more info? Call 825-6116.

Pork Dinner

April 5 Roast Pork Dinner at the Bear River East Baptist Church, there are three settings: 4:45 p.m.; 5:30 p.m.; 6:15 p.m. To reserve your plate or to arrange take out, call Brian at 638-3564.

Deconsecration

April 6 A Deconsecration service will be held for St. Andrew’s Church at 579 Main St., Lawrencetown, starting at 11 a.m. All are welcome.

Bridgetown soccer registration

April 8/9 at Bridgetown High School from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. No phone registrations. Fees due that night. Child’s health card needed. Anyone wishing to donate gear can bring it during registration times.

Business meeting

April 9 The Annual Business Meeting for lot owners of Wadeville Cemetery will start at 7:30 p.m. at the Granville Centre Hall. All lot owners are asked to attend.

Senior Games 45s

April 9 The Annapolis West Senior Games group is holding the annual 45s tournament at the Annapolis Royal Legion on April 9 at 1 p.m.

Cancer Society AGM

April 10 The Annapolis Royal and District Unit of the Canadian Cancer Society will hold its’ Annual General Meeting in the Municipal Building, Annapolis Royal, at 7:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend and support their district unit.

Bats in the Belfry

April 10, 11, 13 The Annapolis District Drama Group presents the comedy Bats In The Belfry by Angela Randazzo, a hilarious comedy of magic and mayhem. Performances are a King's Theatre benefit and are on Thursday, April 10, Friday, April 11 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, April 13 at 2 p.m.

April 12 The Society for the Friends of Ferals will meet at 9:30 a.m. in the Digby Legion Hall on Mount Street, Digby. (Members should arrive at 9:00 a.m.)

Chinese auction

April 12 at Melvern Square Community Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Proceeds for the Melvern Square United Baptist Church. New and nearly new items. Name and phone number will be taken.

April 12 The annual roast pork and kraut supper will be held at the Bear River United Church vestry from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Everyone welcome.

Annual Celebration of Hope

April 12 at Middleton Legion (Marshall Street) at 7:30 p.m. Guest speakers, entertainment and a light lunch will be served. Free admission. Your presence will make a difference. Canadian Cancer Society, Annapolis East Unit.

Historic Gardens Spring Clean-up

April 12 Saturday, April 12 and April 14-18. Join the crew to help clean up the grounds and ready the Gardens for Spring. Saturday is weather dependent, but Apr 14-18 will happen rain or shine. Come anytime between 9am-4pm. Further information: 532-7018.

Volunteer Meeting

April 14 Mid-Valley Palliative Care Services at SMH at 7 p.m. Public welcome. Topic: Compassionate Care Benefits. Representatives from Services Canada will explain this new program designed to offer financial assistance to help working people who may have to care for very ill loved ones.

April 13 Rachel MacLean - one-half of the MacLean Sisters - will be in concert at the Kingston United Church [Main Street, Kingston} at 7 p.m. There will a gospel sing along included. Freewill offering and refreshments.

Annual Meeting

April 15 of the North Kingston Public Cemetery at 7 p.m. in the Kingston Fire Hall. Everyone is welcome and we especially invite anyone with family buried in the cemetery to attend.

April 17 Valley Student Art Fair opens 7 p.m., Thursday, April 17 at the Macdonald Museum, Middleton. This great show features artwork from Valley school children from Windsor to Digby.
