CORRECTION: Opening restorative care unit at DGH
The new restorative care unit on the second floor of Digby General Hospital will be officially opened Monday, April 7,by Health Minister Chris d'Entremont and and Ronald Horrocks, chair of the South West Health board, not March 31 as originally reported.

The 13-bed restorative care unit serves people from the Valley and southwestern Nova Scotia and was a collaborative effort between Annapolis Valley Health, South West Health and the province’s health department.

Restorative care is a comprehensive program that focuses on helping patients regain or retain their independence following an illness or injury such as stroke, major joint surgery, musculoskeletal disorders, traumatic or pathological fractures and amputations.
