Hit TV show seeking bad drivers in Yarmouth
One of Discovery Channel’s top rated shows, Canada’s Worst Driver is coming to Yarmouth in search of candidates for the fourth installment of the series.
Currently in pre-production, producers are now accepting nominations to pre-schedule live interviews during their May stopover in the area.

In the history of the program, never has a candidate hailed from the province of Nova Scotia, let alone the entire East Coast. Producers want to fairly represent the entire country so the search is being expanded. A stop in Yarmouth is planned for early May to meet with the worst of the worst.

Canada’s Worst Driver delves into why some drivers are so disastrous behind the wheel – both in mechanics and mindset – and examines the critical science of road safety. With expert guidance and coaching to help them improve, the worst drivers in Canada will rejoin our highways as better drivers and with fewer liabilities.

At the top-secret Drivers’ Rehabilitation Centre location, the worst-of-the-worst from the cross-country search, along with their brave nominators, will undergo a series of intense challenges designed to improve driving technique, giving these dreadful drivers a higher understanding of basic driving skills and to increase spatial awareness.

Ultimately, the goal behind Canada’s Worst Driver is to release these drivers back onto Canadian roads as safer more competent drivers and to offer viewers insight into why some drivers have difficulty acquiring certain skills. Improving Canada’s worst drivers one by one is not only important for fellow drivers, but for pedestrians everywhere.

“Going into the fourth season, we’re leaving no leaf unturned. We have planned a wider search than ever before and expect to have full representation from across Canada,” said host and series writer Andrew Younghusband.

“Help make our roads safer – send in your nomination now.”

Producers are looking for drivers who have missed the mark in the past. Scaredy-cats whose slow driving does more harm than good and road ragers who intimidate fellow drivers. Mothers, fathers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, spouses…if you or someone you know is a dodgy driver, we want to talk to you. With filming scheduled to begin this summer, the worst-of-the-worst will be narrowed down to the bottom eight. Those chosen will be flown to a top secret location to undergo driving challenges designed by experts to improve primary driving skills. With specialized training, these disastrous drivers must earn their release them from rehab, granted only when our driving experts believe they have truly improved.

“We’re serious about fixing these drivers,’’ said Younghusband. “It’s a fun experience for them but the name of the game is to make our roads safer, and I’m proud of the successes we’ve had in our past three seasons. But there’s no shortage of bad drivers that still need our help.”

To take part, local residents must send their nominations via email or phone to driver@propertelevision.com or call 1-866-598-2591. Producers will follow up with every nomination received from now until April 30.
