Mariners post 5-0 Sunday night win over the Crushers
After watching the Pictou Weeks Crushers cap their 4-2 game win Saturday night with a goal on the Mariners’ empty net, the Yarmouth Mariners came out strong Sunday night blanking the Crushers 5-0 to tie the Bent Division finals at one game a piece.

Scott Sack led the Mariners with one goal and one assist.

Steve Pearson (game winner) opened the scoring at 3:03 to give the Mariners a 1-0 lead after the first period. Jordan Scott scored at 4:57 to extend the lead to 2-0 after the second period. Sack scored at 10:01 to increase the lead to 3-0. Itan Chavira (unassisted) scored 55 seconds later at 10:56 to widen the lead to 4-0. Andrew Morrison rounded out the scoring at 17:04.

Yarmouth went 0 for 6 on the powerplay while Pictou County went 0 for 4.

Mariner Dallas Ungurian stopped all 22 shots he faced for the shutout victory while Crusher Alexandre Quessy stopped 44 of 49 shots in the loss.

Games 3 and 4 in this best-of-seven series will take place on Wednesday and Thursday night at the John "Brother" MacDonald Stadium in New Glasgow. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. for both games.

Game 5 will be back in Yarmouth on Saturday night.
