White Rock news
Hello again everyone. Another week has passed again. It is crazy how times goes so fast but at the same time it means we are closer to better weather. I would say that the people in Newfoundland are especially thinking that. You know we complain about our weather but it could be worse. Don’t get me wrong, I want the snow and cold weather to go away too but again, it could be worse. I am happy that it isn’t worse.

I have the date now for the Bean, Potato Scallop and Ham supper that is taking place at the White Rock Community Hall. It will be taking place on April 12th from 4:30pm to 6:30pm. The price is $7 per Adult and $3 for children Twelve and under. There are take out orders available by calling 542-7936 anytime after 3pm. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the good food and good company.

The card party for March 18th had 9 ¾ tables in attendance. Laurie Garby won the traveler prize as well as the low for the evening. Helen Hutt won the door prize and Carthel Illsley won the 50/50. The women’s high for the evening went to Audrey Keddy and the shocker for a second time this season was that my Dad, Reg Pick, won the men’s high. Congratulations to everyone.

I have heard that there will be a ticket auction coming up soon. I think it is at the Gaspereau Hall but I am not sure. Once I confirm it, I will let you all know. Keep you eyes peeled for the date.

Birthday wishes go out to Travis Schofield of Black River and Wayne Schofield of Schofield road who are celebrating on March 28th.

The White Rock community association meeting will be held on March 26th at 7:30pm in the dart room. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Also remember about the Fitness classes on Wednesday nights starting at 7pm upstairs. From 7pm to 8pm there will be various exercises and from 8pm to 8:30pm there is an exercise ball class. $2 for the first hour and $1 for the additional half hour. Everyone is welcome to attend.

There will be a Memories workshop taking place at the White Rock community hall on March 29th from 9am to 5pm. The cost of this is $15.00 per person (bring bag lunch). It is being put on by Sandra Cudmore. If you have any questions, call Sandra at 542-5518.

I think that is it for this week. Remember to drive safe and be aware of your surroundings and no cell phone use while driving after April 1st. Have a great week.
