There will be a meeting of the Ostomy Support Group opened to ostomates, their families and the general public Tuesday, March 18, at the Yarmouth Hospital in the Ruth and Irving Pink conference room at 7:30 p.m. Guest Speaker : Greg Cromwell, Atlantic territory manager, Coloplast Ostomy Products.

Program
Starts March 18
Tri-county residents are invited to attend the Heart and Stroke “Live and Learn” patient education series presented by South West Health’s stroke program. The free program begins Tuesday, March 18, (2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.) and will run each Tuesday afternoon for four weeks. The session will be repeated in the evenings 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. beginning Wednesday, May 7, for four weeks. Most presentations will take place at Yarmouth Regional Hospital but will be broadcast by Telehealth to Digby General Hospital and Roseway Hospital. The Yarmouth Area Cancer Support Group will meet Wednesday, March 19, at 7 p.m. in the Sobey’s community room, Starrs Road. Speaker is dietician Andrea Parker. Easter egg hunt

An Easter egg hunt for kids will be held Saturday, March 22, from 1 - 4 at the Firefighters’ Museum. Find your egg and you could win an Easter basket filled with goodies. Free admission.
Sunrise service

On March 23, at 7:30 a.m. a sunrise service will be held at the Town Point Cemetery followed by refreshments at the Old Congregational Church, Chebogue.
Easter service

An Easter sunrise service will be held at the Cape Forchu Lightstation on Sunday, March 23, at 6:45a.m. This will be a non-denominational service. Refreshments will be served in the Mug Up Tea Room in the light keeper’s house after the service. Sponsored by the Friends of the Yarmouth Light Society. Divorce care program

Le Village historique acadien de la Nouvelle-Écosse, West Pubnico, presents its third annual dinner theatre, a comedy, Une job neuve (A New Job,) on March 28 and 29 and on April 3, 4 and 5, at 6:30 p.m. The production will be in Acadian French. On Sunday, March 30, at 2:30 p.m. at the Yarmouth branch of the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia,Chuck Smith will give a talk about the Missionaires, the Yarmouth quartet which achieved fame locally and nationally from the 1940s through the 1970s. His father, Charles Smith, was a member of the group, and Chuck Smith will share memories and also the music.

Volunteers are needed to fill several positions on the Yarmouth Red Cross Emergency response Team in Yarmouth. Focus on providing relief assistance to people in the community who have experienced a personal disaster or responding to a medium or large scale disaster. Training provided.
