Original performers return to St. Patrick’s Day Fundraiser
The original performers of the Queens Association of Supported Living’s St. Patricks Day Fundraiser will return for this year’s Irish celebrations.
They are Gail Tutty and Maurice Laurkin.
“I think the fact that Gail and Maurice are coming back,” sets the annual event apart from last year, says Brian Fralic with the Queens Association for Supported Living.
The fourth annual St. Patrick’s Day Fundraiser begins 5 p.m. March 15 at Lanes Privateer Inn.
“We’re not 100 per cent funded so there are certain things that aren’t covered,” explains Fralic.
Proceeds will go towards such things as entertainment, programs and client needs.
Tutty, Laurkin and Sam Sampson will perform a sing-along beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Eilidh Campbell and Paul Buchanan from the Wooly Jumpers will entertain the crowd from 8 p.m. on, says Fralic.
“It’s a great fundraiser and people have a great time and it’s for a worthwhile cause.”
Admission is $10.
The association board puts on the fundraiser, which raised more than $3,500 last year.
