International Women’s Day celebrated with evening café of women’s music in Wolfville
It was standing room only at St. John’s Parish Hall in Wolfville Friday evening for the International Women’s Day in Wolfville evening café of women’s music, featuring 14 solo and group performances, as well as coffee and home made desserts. The Acadia University Faculty Association Women’s Committee presented the event, a fundraiser for Chrysalis House. Performers included Maria Duarte, Rachel McLean, Randy Newman, Hope Gillis, Laura Smith, Amelia Keating-Isaksen, Sharon Bernbaum, Courtney Smith, Kathryn Furtado, Verlie Wyle, Rose Folks, t@b, the group Mna Ceoil, with members Denise Aspinall, Ariana Nasr, Emma Prunty, Romira Worvill and Tess Wingate and the group of Emily West, Erin Dalton and Hillary Barter.
