Regional Hospital still hamstrung by Feb. 5 flood
Valley Regional Hospital continues to be impacted by the flooding, which took place Tuesday, Feb. 5.
Please note the continuing changes in services for the week of March 3-7:
- Orthopedic Clinics for doctors Howatt, Clarke, Beveridge and Hewins will be held at Valley Regional Hospital in Ambulatory Care. If you require an X-Ray, please proceed to Diagnostic Imaging on Level Two before going to Ambulatory Care on Level Three.
- Blood collection for urgent cases/emergencies will take place on Level One in the Lab area of VRH. The people requiring regular blood collection services are encouraged to use EKMCHC and WKMHC, who have extended their hours to 7 a.m. through 11 a.m.
- Visitors are welcome at Valley Regional Hospital. When visiting patients on the Medical Unit, please use the cafeteria entrance next to the Helipad on Level One. All other visitors should use the entrance at the Cardiac Investigation Unit (CIU) entrance next to the Emergency Room. Note when using the entrance next to the emergency room to park in the main parking lot and not in the ambulance arrival area.
- If you have an emergency, call 911 or proceed to the closest emergency room. The emergency room at Valley Regional Hospital is open. For non-urgent health issues, the public is encouraged to use Eastern Kings Memorial Community Health Centre (EKMCHC), Wolfville (clinic hours 5-9 p.m. Mon. – Fri. and 12–5 p.m. on weekends) or Western Kings Memorial Health Centre (WKMHC), Berwick (clinic hours 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.).
When arriving at Valley Regional Hospital, follow the signs for the appropriate entrances to the services or areas you need to visit.
