RCMP Kings, along with the Street Enforcement Crime Unit, are investigating a series of break-ins into homes that have been occurring during daytime hours.

Cst. Les Kakonyi says the culprits appear to be targeting locations with high-end items like flat screen TVs and other electronic equipment.

Over a two-day period last week, five homes were reportedly broken into. Some of the areas have been New Minas, North Alton, Arlington and Brooklyn Corner. Kentville Police Service has also had several break and enters into homes within the town.

In all cases, homeowners were either at work or out of the home at the time of the offences.

Thieves have entered homes via back doors and windows that have either been left unlocked or not secured. Police are reminding homeowners to secure their premises and report any suspicious activity immediately.
