Car hits, kills Kingston pedestrian
RCMP attended Highway 1 in Kingston at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, where a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.

The pedestrian, an 83-year-old Kingston man, was transported to the Valley Regional Hospital, where he died of his injuries.

A Traffic Collision Reconstructionist attended the scene to assist with the investigation, along with the Kingston Volunteer Fire department. The highway was closed for several hours.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the man was crossing Highway 1 when he was struck by an eastbound vehicle. Further investigation will provide more answers for the cause of the crash.

The name of the deceased was not be released pending notification of next of kin.
