Tec Social with Brian Reid
IT expert to speak at February 26 event in Lawrencetown
The Annapolis Digby Economic Development Agency will be holding its second tec social, featuring Brian Reid, president and CEO of Britech Information Systems Ltd., who will speak on the topic of research and development.

The social is an opportunity for people in business to network and receive practical business advice.

Reid has over 25 years experience in the IT sector, and with his wife Deborah, currently owns and manages five companies, collectively known as the Synova Group. The oldest of these is Britech Information Systems Limited, a Nova Scotia based information technology company.

Before forming his own company, Reid worked for the Department of National Defence, Dalhousie University Medical School, and a large community hospital in the Annapolis Valley. He began his early work designing personal tracking systems for Maritime Command, and later designed clinical health information systems for many hospitals in the province and across Canada.

Reid has served on over 14 boards of directors, including the Experimental Aircraft Association, the BioNova Life Science Industry Association, and Nova Scotia’s Association of Hospital Organizations to name a few. He is also a mentor for young startup companies throughout the province. He currently lives and works in Lawrencetown.

The tec social will be held on February 26 at 7 p.m. in the boardroom at the Nova Scotia Community College Lawrencetown campus, located on Elliot Road. For more information, call Wanda Cole at 638-3490.
