1-on-1 Computer Tutorials

February (All Month) Free basic computer tutorials at the Annapolis Royal Library. Register for a session by calling the library during open hours, 532-2226.

VON Lunch Bunch

February 21 VON Lunch Bunch will be held at the Port Royal Legion in Annapolis Royal on February 21. Bring a friend and join us for good food, pleasant conversation, and entertainment. Dance, Dance, Dance

February 22 Dance, Dance, Dance at the Annapolis Royal Fire Hall, Friday, Feb. 22. Ages five to 10 years. Admission $5. Well chaperoned. Canteen available. Sponsored by the Annapolis Royal Fire Department Auxiliary.

Spaghetti Dinner

February 22 The projects committee of the Anglican Parish of Annapolis is holding a Spaghetti Dinner at St Luke's Hall on February 22. Two sittings: 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Cost is $8 or $4 for children under 12 years. Salad, spaghetti with meat sauce [vegetarian option available], Italian bread with flavoured butters, and an ice cream sundae buffet for dessert. For tickets call the Parish office at 532-0913.

Band Showcase

February 23 The Annapolis County High School Band Showcase will take place on Saturday, Feb. 23 at Annapolis West Education Centre. Enjoy performances by the concert bands from MRHS, BRHS, and AWEC, as well as a massed band performance by all three. The concert begins at 6 p.m. in the gymnasium at AWEC.

Adult Skating

February 23 Adult skating will be held at the Bridgetown Arena, 26 Jeffrey Street, February 16 from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m. Admission $4.

Pre-Easter Breakfast

February 23 The Bear River United Baptist Church will hold a Pre-East Breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Guest speaker will be Rev. Fred Bigelow. There will be a hymn sing. Free will donation. (More breakfasts on March 1, 8 & 15.)

Big Breakfast

February 23 Enjoy a Big Breakfast at the Middleton Curling Club, 9 King St., from 8 to 11 a.m. A community favourite.

Cribbage tournament

February 23 Cribbage Tournament at the Middleton Legion Branch #1 with registration at 12 noon and play starting at 1 p.m. All entrance monies returned in prizes, canteen available. Members and guests welcome. Must be 19 years of age. Call 825-4751 for more information.

CNIB fundraiser

February 24 The Middleton and District Lions Club are having a Roast Turkey Supper from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at their hall in Nictaux, (wheelchair accessible). Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Take outs available by calling 825-4374 (pick-up only).

Nature Walk

February 24 There will be a nature walk hosted by the Three Rivers Community Center in Torbrook Mines on February 24 from 1 to 3 p.m. For more information call Monica Crocker at 765-4675.

Special brunch

February 24 Come for Brunch at 12, noon at Queen of Heaven Chapel Annex, Greenwood. Pancakes, sausages and beverage for $4.00. Sponsored by Knights of Columbus, Greenwood /Middleton Council. Proceeds go to Victory Over Violence / Emergency Teen Shelter. Everyone welcome.

Evening Service

February 24 Come out to an evening service at Clementsvale United Baptist Church, Starts at 7:00 p.m. with Brad Hewey and guests. Everyone welcome. Storm date for March 2.

Soup luncheon

February 26 Middleton Fireflies’ Soup Luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Middleton Fire Hall. Lobster chowder $7; Corn chowder $6; Hamburger soup $6; includes strawberry shortcake. For Middleton deliveries, leave message at 825-3062 by Feb. 25.

Historical Society Meeting

February 26 Annapolis Valley Historical Society meeting, 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 26, Macdonald Museum, Middleton. Guest speaker will be Middleton resident Eloise Murray on Africa. All welcome. Free admission. Phone 825-6116 for information.

CAPS meeting

Pancake Supper

February 28 A Pancake Supper will be held at Kingston United Church 773 Main Street, Kingston, on Thursday, Feb. 28 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Homemade pancakes, real maple syrup, hash-brown potatoes, sausage, tea, coffee, juice, homemade pies. Free will donation. Takeouts available.

Electric Quilting

March Bridgetown C@P Site will be offering classes in “Electric Quilting” beginning in March. Learn to design quilts, match fabrics and colours, access border designs. Build on what you now know. For information contact Carol at 665-4804.

March 1 Indoor Yard Sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Legion in Middleton in support of scouting. Includes yard sale tables, bake sale and 50/50, canteen available. Admission is $1. Tables still available by calling Candy at 825-6937 or Lisa at 825-3188.

Jam Session

March 3 Clementsport Legion upstairs, Ladies Auxiliary Jam Session, March 3 from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Freewill offering. Everyone welcome. Refreshments at 9 p.m. Come entertain and enjoy.

Citrus and Plant Sale

March 6 The Annapolis Royal Schools Bands are selling citrus fruit and potted flowers to raise funds. Oranges and grapefruit ($38 full case, $20 half case, $10 quarter case). Six inch potted gerbera daisies, pansies, and violas in assorted colours ($10). Place an order with a band member or call 532-0444 by March 6. Pick up date is Saturday, April 5 at ARRA.

Benefit Auction

March 15 A Chinese Auction is being held at the Cambridge Community Hall from 10am to 2pm, draw starts at 2 p.m. Proceeds are for the Hazelwood family of Kingston who lost their home and belongings to a house fire on New Years Eve.

Relay for Life
