C.K. finishes regular season with win; NKEC leads the league
By Justin Halbersma

The West Kings Wolverines came to the Berwick Arena feb. 15 to take on archrivals Central Kings.

After narrowly defeating the Gators in the first meeting of the season, the Wolverines watched as C.K. found its game as the season wore on. The latest installment of the C.K./ West Kings rivalry saw the Gators defeat the Wolverines 7-2.

After a close first period, highlighted by exceptional goaltending by both C.K.’s Mitch Woodworth and West Kings’ Adam Gorman, the Gators went to work. Led by captain Zack Morse, Central Kings dominated the final two periods, blowing a close game wide open as the Gators began gaining momentum for the playoff run (which got underway Feb. 18 against Middleton).

Morse scored four goals to pace the C.K. attack. Mitch Stevens, Jeremy Foote and Brennan Aalders all notched singles.
