Ice Dogs lead Yarmouth series
Two overtime wins for Barrington
The Barrington Ice Dogs have clawed their way to a 2-0 lead over the Yarmouth Admirals.
Both games so far of the best-of-five Nova Scotia Junior C Western semifinal series have been decided in overtime.
The Ice Dogs won the first game 3-2 in Barrington on Friday, Feb. 15. Kyle Dillman scored all three for the Dogs, two in regulation and the winner in the second overtime.
Dustin Goreham assisted on all three for Barrington.
Shawn Muise and Colin Boudreau scored the Yarmouth goals. Josh Merrick made 26 saves for Barrington while Sam White stopped an incredible 45 shots.
Jesse Hopkins was the hero of the second game in Yarmouth on Saturday, Feb. 16, scoring the winner in the first OT period.
James Swain, Graydon Mood, and Jeff Goulden scored in regulation for Barrington, Matt Shay, Shawn Muise, and Dylan Saulnier for the Admirals. Game 3 is scheduled for next Friday, Feb. 22, in Barrington at 8:00 p.m.
Elsewhere in the league, the Eastern Shore’s Harbour Crunch is up 2-0 over the Avon Rinkrats of Windsor; the New Waterford Jets and the Halifax Thunder are tied at one apiece after a game in Halifax and a game in Tatamagouche. Both games next weekend are scheduled for New Waterford.
