Jeffrey Michael Glenn McKenzie - 19 of Coldbrook, Kings Co .passed away tragically Saturday, February 2, 2008. Born in Halifax, he was the son of Tina MacDonald (Ritchie) and step-father Todd MacDonald. Jeffrey’s interests included, baseball, Nascar and music. He believed in living life to the fullest. Surviving also is his father, Chris McKenzie; sister, Krista McKenzie, Truro; step-sisters: Katherine Bruce, Halifax; Stephanie Bruce, Toronto; half-brother, Devon McKenzie, Dartmouth; godfather, Michael (Rizzo) Ritchie and godmother, Laura Nelson (McKenzie). Jeff was a treasured grandson of Gloria Ritchie; Cecilia and Glenn McKenzie and Bernice MacDonald. He will be sadly missed by numerous aunts and uncles. Jeffrey was predeceased by grandfathers: Raymond Ritchie and John MacDonald and Aunt Deanna Ritchie. Visitation was held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the Annapolis Valley Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr. (Exit 14), Coldbrook. Funeral service was held 11:00 a.m. Thursday February 7th in the Coldbrook Baptist Church, Coldbrook. Rev. Gary Countway officiated. Interment will take place in Dartmouth at a later date. QUILLAN, Muriel “Molly” (Phillips). Of Brookline, Massachusetts, Feb. 2, 2008. Beloved wife of the late Allan Quillan. Loving mother of Carol Colangelo and her husband Mark of Medford and Gail Gawlowicz of Pembroke. Devoted grandmother to Christopher Colangelo of Medford and Michael Colangelo and his wife Jessica of FL., Edward Gawlowicz and his wife Carolyn of Bedford, NH. and Philip O’Neil and his wife Amy of Kingston. Also survived by her dear great grandchildren, Landon and Darrin Colangelo, Robert, Jacqueline, Ashley and Allan Gawlowicz and Kaitlyn and Sean O’Neil. Sister of the late Clarence Phillips. A Funeral Service was held Friday morning Feb. 8 in the United Parish, 210 Harvard St., Brookline at 11. Relatives and friends were kindly invited. Visiting hours omitted. HUGHES, James Francis -86, Wilmot, passed away Saturday, February, 2, 2008 in the Veteran’s Unit at Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Riverton, PEI, he was the son of the late Teresa Mae (Trainor) and Hugh Owen Hughes. After serving with the Navy during the Second World War, Jim worked in a variety of areas – Nova Scotia Power, IBEW setting up a Building Trades Construction Trades Council in Pictou County, traveling extensively for trade unions, organizing, negotiating and conciliating and lastly as an investigative officer with the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission. Upon moving to the Valley, Jim and his wife operated a small B&B in Wilmot. During that time he became a founding member and Vice President of the Nova Scotia Government Retirees Association. Jim was a life member of the Kingston Lions Club and Royal Canadian Legion Branch #98 Kingston. He is survived by his wife Jean; daughters, Aileen (John) Brown, Amherst; Judy Hughes (Paul Thorne), New Glasgow; Brenda (Bill) Huntley, Calgary; sons, Jim Jr. (Linda) Mirimichi, NB; Gary (Judy), St. John’s NFLD; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 2 stepsons, Scott (Julie) and Kurt (Tianhao); brothers, Bernard, Reginald and Raymond. He was predeceased by a young son, Owen; grandson, Sean; sisters, Pearl, Helen and Mary; brothers, Harry and Joseph. Cremation has taken place. Visitation was held Friday, February 8, 2008 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448, where a memorial service will be held, February 9, 2008. Rev. Anthony Brian Mark Hubley - 20 of Waterville, Kings Co. passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 2, 2008, as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Born in Digby on January 11, 1988, he was the son of Donna Hubley, Waterville, Kings Co. and Brian Haynes, Grand Manan. He was a loved son, brother, nephew, uncle and grandson. He will be sadly missed by his mom, dad, brother, Christopher (Krista), Kentville; sister, Kelly, Cornwallis; step-brothers, B.J. and Vernon; step-sister, Beth- Ann, all of Grand Manan; Uncle Tommy (Susan), Digby; cousins, Daniel, Devin and Chad; niece, Brooke; nephew Eric. BUCHANAN, Warren Arthur, 64, Isle Perrot, Quebec, passed away Monday, January 28, 2008 in Lakeshore General Hospital, Pointe-Claire, Quebec. Born in London, England on March 5, 1943, he was the son of Florence Elsie Buchanan and the late Warren Edward Buchanan, Shelburne, Nova Scotia. Warren is survived by sister, Linda Rae (Don), nephew Christopher Dalton and extended family in Canada and England. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.

ROGERS, William T. – 57 passed away January 31, 2008 in Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie, Ontario. Born in Liverpool, Queens Co., Nova Scotia he was the son of the late Harry and Lillian (Clattenburg) Rogers. Bill is survived by his wife, Susan; daughter, Tina; stepmother, Leah Rogers, French Lake, NB; brothers: Norman (Wendy) Rogers, Liverpool, NS, Donald (Helen) Rogers, Kamloops, BC, David Rogers, Nunavut; stepbrothers, Richard and William, Fredericton, NB, Brian, French Lake, NB, David, Rusagonia, NB; sisters: Mary Stevens, Port Medway, NS, Cathy (Herb) Carlson, Toronto, ON, Linda (Clarence) Wolfe, Port Mouton, NS, Cindy (Ronald) Bagshaw, Toronto, ON; stepsister, Rhonda, Fredericton, NB. He was predeceased by brothers Paul and Arnold; and stepbrother Randy. Cremation and ceremony has taken place under the direction of Marshall Driver, Barrie, ON. Interment at a later date.

STEWART (Fraser), Janet Lee, 51, Clam Point, Shelburne County, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2008 in Roseway Hospital, Shelburne, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Bridgewater, she was a daughter of Mrs. Florence (Haines) Fraser, Shelburne, and the late Carroll Fraser. Janet was a woman of great faith and met every challenge in her life with courage and a beautiful smile. She lived every moment of her life to the fullest and without regret. She enjoyed crafting, walking and most of all, loved spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid curler and member of the Barrington Regional Curling Club. She was looking forward to the birth of another precious grandchild in June. She is deeply missed by her husband and soul mate, Larry; loving daughters, Teri-Lynn (Jeff), Halifax, Corinne (Graham), North East Point; stepchildren, Rhonda (Darryl) Burton, N.B., Shawn, Cape Sable Island, Darren (Trudy), Clam Point; cherished grandchildren, Jeremy, Christopher, Brandy, Lee, Chad, Jordan and Jenna; brothers, Gary (Perry), Bridgewater, Darrell (Angie), Bridgewater; little sister, Patti (Jimmie) Stoney Island; numerous nieces and nephews and many special friends. She was predeceased by brother, Brian. Funeral service was held on Friday, February 1, in H. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington, Pastor Brad Pass officiating.
