Visiting of patients at Valley Regional Hospital in Kentville remained restricted on Thursday as Annapolis Valley Health continued to deal with the cleanup of a flood condition on Tuesday, Feb. 5.
A broken sprinkler pipe on Level Three of the hospital flooded a portion of that level as well as the main lobby area with approximately 20,000 gallons of water.
There were no injuries, no patients had to be moved, and
the facility is currently in the clean-up phase.
The following changes in service are in place for Feb. 7-8:
Dr. Clark's orthopedic clinic is moved to the Eastern Kings Memorial Health Centre in Wolfville for Feb. 7.
Patients with ambulatory clinic appointments are asked to contact their doctor's office to confirm or reschedule.
Blood collection for urgent cases and emergencies is available in the lab area on Level One at VRH.
Blood collection is also available at the community health centres in Wolfville and Berwick with extended hours from 7 a.m. - 11 p.m. at those facilities.
The following services are open Feb. 7-8 at Valley Regional: all chemotherapy and medical oncology, same-day and day surgery, the Diabetes Centre, Hearing and Speech and Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy.
The Emergency Department is also open as usual. When arriving at Valley Regional, please follow the signs for the appropriate entrances to the services you need.
