1-on-1 Computer Tutorials

February (All Month) Free basic computer tutorials at the Annapolis Royal Library. Register for a session by calling the library during open hours, 532-2226.

Benefit concert

February 1 Come to MRHS for performances by the Annapolis Big Band, Janice Sheridan, The Eddie Ellis Band, Mark Bond as “Mr. Bean” and Road Apples (B’town Blues Band) Concert starts at 7:30 p.m., free will offering. Proceeds for Middleton Regional High School facilities enhancement – new gym and music room.

Valentine Brunch

February 2 Valentine Brunch at the Hillsburn 4-H Hall starting at 9:00 a.m. Cost is $5.00 per person. Menu includes breakfast surprise, sausage, pancakes, toast and beverage.

Benefit supper

February 2 Benefit Supper for Alexandria Roop at the Middleton Fire Hall, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Enjoy a Roast Beef Dinner and dessert. Free will offering. Alexandria is an 8 year old girl who has Lymphoma and requires aggressive treatment in Halifax.

DJ dance

February 2 DJ Dance at the Middleton Royal Canadian Legion from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Members and guests are welcome. Must be 19 years of age. Call 825-4751 for more information.

JumpStart Breakfast

February 2 JumpStart BIG Breakfast, Saturday, Feb. 2 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Middleton Fire Hall. Free will donation with all proceeds for the Annapolis/Digby Jumpstart Chapter. Jumpstart is a community-based charitable program that helps local children in financial need participate in organized sport and recreational activities.

Family Fun Day

February 2 Family Fun Day, Saturday, Feb. 2, 10 a.m. to 12 noon, Canada 125 Park, Middleton. Take the Roof off Winter with a smorgasbord of winter activities for you to try: snowshoeing, kick sledding, nordic walking, road hockey and much more. Fun for all ages. Prize draws. Community meeting

February 3 Community meeting at the Round Hill Hall at 1:30 p.m. to discuss interest and designs for a cairn which will be placed on the site of the former St. Paul’s Church. For further information, phone Pat Bishop at 532-2555 or Vangie Cress at 532-0543.

Variety Show

February 3 Variety Show featuring Paul Marshall at the Three Rivers Community Center in Torbrook Mines on February 3 starting at 2 p.m. Free will offering as all proceeds will be donated to the community center in memory of Ginny Banks. Jam Session

February 4 A Music Jam Session will be held February 4 from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at Clementsport Legion Branch # 122 L.A. Upstairs. Free Will Offering. Refreshments at 9 p.m. Everyone welcome to entertain and enjoy the evening with friends. Sponsored by Ladies Auxiliary of Branch # 122. Funds for Fuel

Neighbourhood watch

February 4 Wilmot and Area Neighbourhood Watch will meet at 7:00 p.m. in the Wilmot Christian Fellowship Centre. Special guest speaker will be Bruce Carter of Natural Resources. He will present information on the use of the Trans Canada Trail. .All welcome.

Scrabble Night

Shrove Tuesday Supper

February 5 All Saints’ ACW will be holding their Annual Shrove Tuesday Supper at All Saints’ Church Hall, Pleasant Street, Kingston, Tuesday, Feb. 5, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Menu: Ham, baked beans, scalloped potatoes, pancakes and gingerbread. Women’s Breakfast

February 5 Women’s Breakfast – Network Morning – Meet on February 5, Middleton Subway, 8 to 9:30 a.m. Everyone is welcome. Garden club

February 6 For this month only, the Bridgetown and Area Garden Club will meet on Wednesday February 6th at the St. Alphonsus Church. Business meeting at 6:30pm, and the speaker at 7pm. Ada will give a presentation on Chinese Garden Design, as well there will be a "Show & Tell" of favourite garden related objects.

Game night

February 6 Come enjoy a good card game, darts or ping pong every Wednesday evening at the Hillsburn 4-H Hall starting at 7pm. Everyone welcome.

Walk and Talk

February 7 Middleton’s Good Morning Walk & Talk – Join us for a Nutritious Breakfast, a Healthy Food Talk and a special fitness presentation. The session will focus the “D.A.S.H. Diet” – learn more about the DASH diet and how it can help you maximize your heart health. It will be held on Thursday, Feb 7 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Middleton Fire Hall. The registration fee is $5. Space is limited; please pre-register by calling the Middleton Recreation Office at 825-6611.

Blood Pressure Clinic

February 7 A Blood Pressure & Blood Glucose clinic will be held at the Annapolis Royal Pharmasave from 2 to 4 p.m. February 7.

Variety show

February 8 Third Annual Outreach Revue at Kingston United Church, starting at 7:00 p.m. The Graham Morehead Band starts off an evening of family fun and laughter.

A smorgasbord of musical numbers, comic sketches and skits, piano and vocal solos. Free will offering with proceeds to the Outreach Committee’s projects and programs.

Silent auction

February 9 Silent Auction at the Deep Brook Waldec Lions Hall, Deep Brook, from 10 am to 4 pm. Hosted by the Bear River Economic Dev. Society with proceeds for repairs to the Trading Post Building in Bear River.



Spaghetti dinner

February 9 31st Annual Mama Capozzi’s Italian Spaghetti dinner at the Middleton Legion with two sittings at 4:30-6:00 & 7:30-9:00. Caesar Salad, Spaghetti with Meat Sauce, Garlic Bread, Cheesecake, Coffee/Tea. Proceeds to MRHS Sr. & Jr. Band Trips. Tickets are $12. Available at Middleton Pharmasave or from Rick at 765-3658. Gospel concert

February 10 Come to our Gospel Concert at the New Beginnings Center, 1151 Bridge St., Greenwood, at 2:00 pm. Musicians include Paul Marshall, David Graves, Graham Moorehead and their friends. Freewill offering. Refreshments will be served.

Exhibit Opening

February 10 In and Out of Africa exhibit opening, 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 10, Macdonald Museum, Middleton. The exhibit features art from several African countries including baskets, paintings, pottery, and carvings. Free admission. All welcome. Phone 825-6116 for more information.

Chocolate Festival
