The Nova Scotia Citizens' Health Care Network is hosting a meeting 6:30 p.m. Jan. 30 in The Hank Snow Country Music Centre boardroom to set up a local health committee in Queens County.
The meeting is open to the public and all interested individuals and organizations are welcome to attend.
Kyle Buott, Provincial Coordinator of the Health Network will be in Liverpool as well to meet with interested individuals and organizations and to discuss the issues facing public health care.
The roles of the committee are two-fold. The committee will focus on local issues in health care like ER closures and lack of access to family doctors, but will also look at broader provincial issues like stopping privatization and pushing for a new National Pharmacare Program.
