Bridgetown runs out clock on C.K. comeback
By Justin Halbersma
The C.K. Gators took to the ice January 25 in Bridgetown to challenge the host Trojans. The Trojans, boasting the highest scoring line in the VHSHL this season, systematically dismantled the Gators, taking the game 7-4.
Bridgetown scored early and they scored often, building a 7-1 lead, led by Jeremy Bent’s five goals. The line of Bent, Geoff Burke and Dennis Frost has proven to be unstoppable this season. In their first 14 games, the trio has combined for 145 points. This game was no different: six of the seven goals were recorded by that line.
C.K. mounted a last minute comeback, finally solving Trojan netminder Noah Croft and recording three goals in less than a minute - but, the clock was against the Gators.
In addition to Bent’s five goals, Burke and Jordan Saunders each added singles.
Andrew Fraser scored twice for Central Kings. Boo DiGioacchino and Mitchell Stevens added singles.
