RCMP join Wild fundraiser
South Shore RCMP officers will battle Junior C hockey players on the ice during a fundraiser game against the South Shore Wild.
The newly formed South Shore Wild will host the fundraiser 8:15 p.m. Jan. 12 at Queens Memorial Arena in Liverpool.
South Shore Wild Association secretary, Star Donovan says RCMP officers from Bridgewater, Chester, Lunenburg and Liverpool will take part in the game.
Players for the Wild are from those areas as well, she adds.
Donovan hopes the fundraiser will raise awareness about the team and money.
The South Shore Wild and the RCMP will split the proceeds equally.
The RCMP will donate their half to a charity of their choice, she says.
Hoping to fill the arena, Donovan is sure it will be an entertaining event.
Laura Cormier with the Queens RCMP detachment will referee the game, adds Donovan.
Admission is $5.
