December 16, 2007 to December  22, 2007 FRIZZELL, Clifford Charles “Moose” - 84, Windsor, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2007, at home. Born on December 20, 1922, in Windsor, he was a son of the late Frederick and Elizabeth (Selby) Frizzell. Moose worked for the Bill Lynch shows for 37 years and he enjoyed fishing. Surviving are his wife, Alice Butler; sons, Fred (Lesley), Windsor; Charlie, Alberta; and Bill (Jocelyn), Three Mile Plains; daughters, Pauline Plank, Halifax; Deana (Philip), Alberta; Margaret (Gary), Fredericton; grandchildren, Claudette, Carrie-Ann, Krista-Lee, Allison, Melissa, Mariah, Charlie, Amanda, Heather, Stephanie, Joshua & Emily; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Louise (Andy), Ontario. Moose was predeceased by sisters, Elsie and Bessie; brothers, Bert, Gordon, and Bill. At Clifford’s request, cremation had taken place under the direction of Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King St., Windsor. There was no visitation by request. Memorial service was held 2 p.m. Saturday, December 8, in the funeral home. A private family interment was held in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor. December 16, 2007 to December  22, 2007 Neva Eliza Glazebrook – 83 of Glenmont, Kings County, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2007 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Martins Point, Lunenburg County, she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Hattie (Hiltz) Barkhouse. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. She enjoyed preparing plastic canvas crafts and doing needlework. She was an avid gardener, especially flowers. She is survived by two daughters, Geraldine Schofield (George Parrish), Glenmont; Betty (Rupert) Colp, Bridgewater; a foster daughter, Brenda Henshaw, Wolfville; a son, John (Teresa), New Minas; two sisters, Lillian Shupe, Chester; Lena Turple, Martins Point; a brother, Lloyd (Aggie) Barkhouse, Martins Point; 10 grandchildren, Laurie, Billy, Michael, Robert, Joey, Eric, Janice, Shelley, Cindy and Christine; 11 great grandchildren, Mitchell, Rhyan, Timmy, Tyson, Meghan, Amber, Katie, Emily, Samantha, Khylena and Jhyliea; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, William Glazebrook; a sister, Marion Johnson; a brother, Weston; two sons-in-law, Howard Schofield and Orval Bezanson and infant great grandchildren. Visitation was held from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2007 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 20, 2007 in St. John’s Anglican Church, Church Street, Port Williams, Reverend David Garrett officiated. Interment took place in the Hillaton Cemetery, Kings County. Family flowers only by request. December 16, 2007 to December  22, 2007 CHANDLER, C. Bruce “Frex”, 91, of Liverpool, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool, Sunday, December 16, 2007. Born in Moncton, NB, he was a son of the late Warren and Jessie (Sarty) Chandler. Frex was a veteran of the Second World War serving overseas in England and Europe with the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps. He was employed with Bowater Mersey Paper Company and retired after 43 years service as a papermaker. Frex was very active as a volunteer with the Liverpool Baseball Club. He took pride in continued maintenance of the baseball fields and was an honourary member of the association. He was about to receive the Lifetime Membership Award for all his dedicated work. Frex received recognition from the former Town of Liverpool with a Volunteer award for his service. He loved to garden, curl, split kindling, and was often seen walking his dogs. He is survived by daughters: Jewel (David) Wilson, Port Mouton; Joan (Jerry) Bower, Shelburne; Ellen (Bruce) MacDonald, Calgary, AB; Step-daughters: Cyndie Levy (Tony Hanspiker), Jeddore; Joan (Raymond) Herman, Broad Cove. Sons: Charles, Sault Ste. Marie, ON; James (Julliene), Centreville, Cape Sable Island; John (Darlene), Liverpool. Eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Brothers: Donald, Iroquois Falls, ON; George, Sault Ste. Marie, ON. He was predeceased by his first wife, Elizabeth (Lundrigan), his second wife, Mary (Davis) a sister and brother and half-brother Albert Sarty. Funeral service was held Wednesday, December 19, 2007 from Trinity Anglican Church, Liverpool. Rev. Arthur Nash officiated. Burial was in Trinity Anglican Cemetery. December 16, 2007 to December  22, 2007 POTHIER, Louie Raphael – 94, Tidal View Manor, Yarmouth and formerly of Upper Wedgeport, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 16, 2007 in the Manor. Born March 9, 1913 in Wedgeport, he was a son of the late Louie and Lucie Pothier. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Beatrice (Cottreau); a sister, Ethel; a brother Jean Donald, as well as twin brothers, Jean Anselme and Francois Marin. He is survived by daughters, Rosalie Murphy; Jacqueline (Louis) Boudreau; sons, Gilles (Anne); Briand (Marilyn), all of Wedgeport; Louis (Janet), Dartmouth; grand-pere to eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a sister, Bernice Doucette, Halifax. Raphael was a self-employed fisherman until his retirement, and was a founding member of both the St. Michael’s Co-op and the Wedgeport Credit Union, and he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 6505 Wedgeport. He was known for his great memory, and he always enjoyed talking about the olden days. Visitation took place from 2-4 and 7-9 Tuesday, with prayers at 8 PM, both in H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Wedgeport. The funeral mass was held at 2:30 PM, Wednesday, December 19 from Saint Michael’s Catholic Church, Wedgeport, Father Wieslaw Papuga officiated, assisted by Msgr. Gerald LeBlanc. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Saint Michael’s Parish cemetery Fund or to a charity of choice. December 16, 2007 to December  22, 2007 BERNARD, Effie – 90, Tidal View Manor, Yarmouth, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2007, in the Manor. Born January 11, 1917 in Lockeport, Shelburne Co., she was a daughter of the late Elisha and Josephine (Robertson) Williams. She worked as a cashier with IGA and she was a member of the ACW. Effie enjoyed playing cribbage, traveling, dancing and lunches at the old Yarmouth Hotel. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are eight grandchildren, Daryll Drake, Debbie Thom, Shawn Drake, Paul Drake, Todd Drake, Thomas Howard, Nancy Howard, Peter Howard; several great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Della Drake-Daley. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Bernard; a son, Francis B. Bernard (Saint John); a daughter, Fern Howard (Liverpool); brothers, Dode and Burns; a sister, Ida. There was no visitation by request. The funeral was held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 19 from Holy Trinity Anglican Church, William Street, Yarmouth, Father Tom Vaughne officiated. Spring interment will take place in Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of choice. December 16, 2007 to December  22, 2007 Joyce Ethel Kelly, age 81, of Three Mile Plains, Hants County, passed away on Monday, December 17th, 2007, at the home of her niece, Rae Garland, Panuke Road, Three Mile Plains. Born on December 21st, 1925, in Three Mile Plains, Hants County, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late William "Willie" Angus Caldwell and Sarah "Sade" Agnes (Whitehead) Caldwell. Joyce was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara, Windsor; grandchildren, Donna (Lloyd) Hayes; Donnie, Cyril, and Bobby Carmichael; great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Kailie, Jeremy, Steven and Alicia; sisters, Gloria Gibson, Newport Station; Caroline Garland, Windsor; Jennie (Dean) Baxter, Garlands Crossing; brothers, Frank Caldwell and Benny (Carol) Caldwell, Three Mile Plains; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Cyril Marvin Kelly (1994); daughter, Bonnie Jean Kelly; son, Burton Marvin Kelly; granddaughter, Dody Ann Carmichael; brothers, Douglas, Cecil and Ross Caldwell; as well as a brother, Bruce in infancy; half-sister, Katherine Trider; half-brothers, Ralph Whitehead and Donald Whitehead. Visitation was 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, December 19th, in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor. Funeral service was 2 p.m. Thursday, December 20th, 2007, in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Jeffrey White officiated, followed by a reception in the Lindsay Family Reception Centre. December 16, 2007 to December  22, 2007 SPICER, Gary Wayne - 52, Wilmot, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 18, 2007, in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton, Nova Scotia. Born in Berwick, Nova Scotia, he was a son of the late Lillian Spicer. Gary was raised by his late grandparents Bob and Hope Spicer. Gary will always be remembered for the twinkle in his eye and the grin on his face while he was telling you “It’s in mint condition.” Special thanks to Raymond Keizer for being the friend we all pray we have in our time of need, and to Joe Felix for your prayers each night. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him and whose lives he touched. Surviving is his wife Mahala (Brown) Spicer, son Alexander, step-daughter Amanda (Andrew), grandchildren Chandler and Blayz, close friend of 11 years Valerie Hudgins, half-sisters Brenda (Jack), Cathy (Andrew) and half-brother Rick (Melanie). Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or reception by request. The Funeral Service was held on Saturday, December 22, 2007 from Faith Victory Assembly, 1447 Westwood Road, Kingston, NS with Pastor Gerry Bezanson officiated.
