NKEC Titans rock C.K. in revenge 7-2 win
By Justin Halbersma
Will the real Central Kings Gators hockey team please stand up?
The C.K. Gators appear to be a team with an identity crisis. Are they the team that shut down West Kings and NKEC, or the team run out of the rink Dec. 14 by the same NKEC Titans in Berwick?
The Titans came to Berwick Arena looking to avenge a 2-1 loss to the Gators earlier in the week. After a close first period, the Titans rocked the Gators in the second, scoring five times, chasing C.K. netminder Mitch Woodworth from the net and coasting to an easy 7-2 win. They recorded an astounding 29 shots on goal in that second period, propelling them to a 55-21 advantage in shots. They opened the second frame with a bang, scoring three times before the five-minute mark.
Xavier Foley and Kris Bigelow both scored twice for the Titans. Alex MacQuarrie, Logan Phillips and Nick MacArthur each added singles. Brandon Whitney recorded the win in goal.
Zack Morse and Andrew Fraser scored for Central Kings.
