Brian Toney remains chief of the Annapolis Valley First Nation in Cambridge.

The band held elections Dec. 10 for two-year terms, with Toney re-elected. He won with 66 votes, compared to 34 cast for Janette Peterson and six for Liz Grant.

Taking the two councillors’ positions are Marilyn Louise Toney, re-elected with 47 votes; and Lawrence Toney, 41 votes. Murray Copage Sr. garnered 28 votes, Nastasya Kennedy, 30; Fred Phillips, 12; Gerald B. Toney, 21; Jerome Toney, nine; and Roger Toney, 11.
