Windsor District RCMP responded to 100 calls for service between Monday, Nov. 26, 2007 and Sunday, Dec. 1, 2007.

Of these, 10 were false alarms and there were seven misdialed 911 calls. Police are again asking the public to try and keep these numbers down as it ties up emergency responders, including police, fire and paramedics.

Police are also investigating one complaint of uttering threats, six reports of disturbing the peace, five assault complaints, two calls of break and enter, four incidents of theft and four reports of damage to property.

There were 13 complaints of traffic-related offences, six motor vehicle crashes investigated and three reports of impaired driving.

Turning to the CrimeStoppers’ Report, Windsor District RCMP is investigating the following offences.

On Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007, between 7:20 a.m. and 4:25 p.m., individuals broke into a home on the East Uniacke Road and stole several large items, including a Panasonic flat screen television, Toshiba laptop computer and numerous other items.

Suspects involved in this matter are also believed to be involved in a theft of a motor vehicle in Lower Sackville the previous night and used this vehicle, a silver Cavalier, to assist in this break and enter.

Between Nov. 22, 2007 at 5 p.m. and the morning of Nov. 23, 2007 at 8 a.m., a 2000 grey Pontiac Grand-Am was vandalized. All the windows and windshields were smashed out and the interior was set on fire.

The vehicle was parked on the side of the road on Highway 101 near exit 4. The vehicle was in the westbound lane headed toward Windsor.

On Nov. 23, 2007 between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., a break and enter occurred on East Uniacke Rd. in East Uniacke.

The back window of a residence was smashed out and perpetrators went through the window. Items stolen were a laptop, DVD player, and a hunting knife with the initials KM on it.

On Friday, Nov. 23, 2007 around 9:30 a.m., a suspicious male knocked on a residence door on Main Street, Hantsport. When the owner of the home answered the door the male tried to gain entry. A brief altercation ensued and the suspicious male took off toward the Home Hardware.

The suspicious male is described as six feet to 6’2” in height, husky build around 200 pounds, shoulder-length blonde hair, wearing a black T-shirt and black leather coat. He’s also described as around 30 years of age.

Windsor District RCMP is investigating a break and enter to the buildings at the old Windsor swimming pool on Fort Edward Street.

On Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 4 p.m., witnesses observed four male youth in and around the pool area. Upon closer look, witnesses discovered the buildings around the pool had been damaged and been entered.

Witnesses described one of the youth wearing a blue winter coat and another wearing a camouflage jacket. Youth fled from the area when they realized they had been observed in the area.

Between 5:30 p.m. Nov. 30, 2007 and 6:15 a.m. Dec. 1, 2007, someone cut the power and stole approximately 400 feet of copper wire from a highway construction site near Exit 8 in Hantsport. Some of the copper belonged to Department of Transportation, and some belonged to a local company.
