Roseway Hospital emergency department closed Tuesday
The Roseway Hospital (Shelburne) Emergency Department will be closed between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30.
The physician scheduled to work the emergency department is unavailable due to illness. At this time South West Health anticipates that there may be an additional emergency department closure until such time as
this physician is recovered and able to return to take part in the emergency department rotation. Additional emergency department closures will be announced.
Shelburne County residents requiring emergency services should visit Yarmouth Regional Hospital Emergency Department (60 Vancouver St., Yarmouth) or Queens General Hospital, Liverpool. If necessary call 911. An
ambulance can only be dispatched by dialing 911. Emergency Departments under the South West Nova District Health Authority use a triage system that gives priority to emergency cases.
Physician unavailability has caused South West Health to restrict the hours for emergency service. This closure is temporary.
There are things that you should bring to the emergency department that will help the ER physician and nurses care for you such as your Nova Scotia Health Card,
a list of medications and a list of allergies.
