MRHS Fundraiser

October 18 Pantry Sale and Quilt Tickets on sale at the Save Easy, Middleton from 4 to 8 p.m. Proceeds for Middleton Regional high School’s new gym and music room.

Open Mic Night

October 19 Bring your friends, your instruments and best singing voice and join us for Open Mic at the Annapolis Royal Legion. The fun begins at 7:30 p.m. This will also be Keg & Wing Night.

Family Night

October 19 Paradise Baptist Family Night: Costumes & Crokinole. Join us from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the church vestry (10280 Hwy. 1). Costume prizes and the crokinole tournament of the century. Breakfast

October 20 Saturday Morning Breakfasts continue at the Annapolis Royal Legion, in the newly renovated small dining room, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Steak and eggs, bacon, sausages, toast and much more.

Centrelea Supper

October 20 A baked beans, potato scallop, and ham supper will be held at the Centrelea Community Hall, October 20 from 4 to 6 p.m. Adults $6. Children 10 and under $3. Take-out available. All proceeds for hall renovations. Everyone welcome.

Big Breakfast

October 20 Come to the Middleton Curling Club (6 King St.) from 8 to 11 a.m for breakfast. Admission. A community favorite.

Musical, Pie Auction

October 20 A Musical and Pie Auction will be held October 20 at the Clementsport Community Hall. Sponsored by the Clementsport Baptist Church. Food, fun, and music. Begins at 6:30 p.m. with a meet and greet and munchies followed by music and auction. Baked goods, preserves, and more.



Brickton Dinner Theatre

October 20-21 The annual Brickton Dinner Theatre is being held on Saturday and Sunday , Oct 20 and 21. Saturday night is already sold out. There are still tickets for the Sunday night performance. Please call 765-6821 for more info and to reserve yours now.

Ham and Baked Beans

October 20 Inglisville Community Hall, ­ Saturday, Oct. 20 from 4 to 6 p.m. Join us for a ham and baked beans dinner. Adults $6, children (10 and under) $4.

Benefit Event

October 21 A benefit for Melinda Cranton (Wood) will be held October 21 at the Clementsport Legion from 1 to 4:00 p.m. Melinda had surgery for cancer and underwent more surgery September 1 due to complications. More surgery is necessary. The fun will include an auction, bake/craft sale, 50/50draw, hot dogs, pop, tea and coffee.

Nordic Walking Workshop

October 21 Bridgetown Active Living presents a nordic walking workshop at Jubilee Park, 1 to 3:30 p.m. Cost of $5 for workshop includes rental of poles. Call Margarida at 665-4637 to register. Space is limited.

Soccer Meeting

October 21 Annapolis District Soccer Association will hold its annual general meeting, October 21 at 7 p.m. at the ARRA cafeteria. We encourage all interested parents to attend.

Praise Service

October 21 There will be a praise service at the Kingston United Baptist Church, Kingston, Sunday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. featuring Rev. Jack and Rev. Audrey Carter and Friends from the Little River and Sandy Cove Baptist Church in Digby County, followed by a fellowship time with refreshments. All are welcome!

Indoor R/C Flying

October 21 The Apple Valley Flyers R/C Club will be hosting indoor flying sessions on Sundays from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Greenwood Community Centre. Visitors are welcome. Come along and enjoy the fun or maybe learn to fly.

Christmas Planning

October 22 A Middleton Christmas Planning Meeting will be held on Monday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. in the board room of Middleton's Town Hall. Business operators, area residents, and all interested persons are invited to attend. This first meeting is your opportunity to bring forward recommendations in time to be considered for Christmas incentive and event plans that will bring the public into Middleton to shop locally this season. Granville Ferry Fall meeting

October 22 The Granville Ferry Hall Community Association will hold its fall meeting on Monday, Oct. 22 in the Granville Ferry Hall. All resident are welcome to attend.

Apple Blossom Meeting

October 22 The Annual General Meeting of the Annapolis Valley Apple Blossom Festival will be held Monday, Oct. 22 at 7:30 pm, Kings Courthouse Museum, 37 Cornwallis Street, Kentville.

Historical Society Meeting

October 23 Annapolis Valley Historical Society meeting, Macdonald Museum, Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 7:30 p.m. Guest speakers on historical sports teams or events in Middleton. Free admission. All welcome. Phone 825-6116 for more details.

Retired Teachers Meet

October 24 The Retired Teachers Organization’s fall general meeting will be held at Holmestead Family Restaurant on Hwy #1 in Granville Ferry. Meet at 11:30 for 12, noon. Bingo

October 24 Monthly Bingo continues at the Annapolis Royal Legion Community Centre. Doors open at 6:45, play starts at 7:30. Cost is $10 per book (15 games). Merchandise prizes. Canteen facilities open.

Harvest Supper

October 25 All Saints ACW will hold its Annual Harvest Supper, Thursday, Oct. 25 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at All Saints Church Hall, Pleasant Street, Kingston. Menu: ham, baked beans, scalloped potatoes, pumpkin pie, apple crisp. Cost: adults $8; children $4. Family rates are available. Take out available.

Foresters Meeting

Karaoke Contest

October 26 Mini Karaoke Contest at Annapolis Royal Legion. Registration begins at 8 p.m., contest at 9 p.m. One winner will walk away with $100, to be decided by audience vote (one vote per person). Come out and bring your loyal supporters.

Soup Luncheon

Pancake Breakfast

October 27 Enjoy a pancake breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Annapolis East Elementary School, Middleton. Adults: $3; Children: $2. Help support AEES.

Fall Luncheon

October 27 Inglewood Community Hall fall luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Enjoy fish chowder or beef vegetable soup and dessert. Adults: $6; Children: $3. Also a bake table. Everyone welcome.

Cribbage Tournament

October 27 Cribbage Tournament at the Middleton Legion Branch #1 with registration at 12 noon and play at 1 p.m. All entrance monies returned in prizes. Canteen available. Members and guests welcome. Must be 19 years of age. Call 825-4751 for more information.

Nordic Walking Clinic

October 27 A Nordic Walking Clinic will be held in Middleton on Saturday, Oct. 27 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Middleton Baptist Church ­ Family Life Center. Fee is $10 (poles will be provided). Space is limited, phone the Middleton Recreation Office at 825-6611 to register. Nordic Walking uses specifically designed poles to engage the upper body during fitness walking.

IODE Sale

October 27 Rummage Sale at the N.S. Community College in Middleton from 1 to 3 p.m. Held by the Rosemary Chapter of the IODE.

Tea and Sale

October 27 Cornwallis Military Museum Tea and Sale, Saturday, Oct. 27, 12 to 3 p.m. at the museum. Table rentals available for crafts. Call Marie 638-3351.

Coffee Party, Craft Sale

October 27 A Coffee Party and Pantry Sale will be held at Three Rivers Community Hall, Torbrook Mines on October 27 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Buffet breakfast of coffee cakes, muffins, sweetbreads, quiche, cheese, homemade breads and jams, tea ,coffee and juice. Fall Lunch, Bazaar

October 29 The St. Louis Catholic Womens League of Canada is hosting a Fall Lunch and Bazaar Monday, Oct. 29 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This event will take place in the Parish Hall and will include craft tables, pantry tables, a Chinese auction and a fine Lunch. Come and bring a friend.

Special Brunch

October 28 A Special Brunch will be held on Sunday, Oct. 28 at 12 Noon at St. Monica’s Catholic Church Hall, in support of Middleton Elementary School Breakfast Program. Your support will help feed those who cannot feed themselves. Only $4. Sponsored by Knights of Columbus Greenwood Council. Pancakes, sausages, coffee, tea, juice. Everyone welcome. November 2 Valley Animal Shelter Bake Sale at Valley Drug Mart, Middleton from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Some of the goodies will be homemade candy, pies, pastries, cookies, breads, preserves and more. For more info, call 765-6629.

MRHS Dinner, Auction

November 3 Join the M.R.H.S. School Enhancement Association at their Annual Dinner and Auction on November 3. Includes live music, unique raffles, live and silent auction, gourmet dinner. Tickets at Middleton Pharmasave.

Ecumenical Fall Fair

November 10 An Ecumenical Fall Fair will be held on Saturday, Nov. 10 at the Annapolis Fire Hall. Four denominations of churches will present crafts tables for hand made items, baked goods, produce, raffles, etc. Luncheon is $7 with chicken soup or chili and assorted desserts. Fair opens at 11 a.m. and luncheon at 11.30 a.m. Admission free but donation to the Food Bank is appreciated.
