Liverpool country music icon leaves centre
After returning from this year’s Canadian Country Music Awards, Hank Snow Country Music Centre Manager, Lauren Tutty has ended this part of her career by attracting another large host of artists to the museum.
They include Brad Joner, Patricia Conroy, Jonny Reid, and the Wilkinson’s. She said everyone at the CCMAs “were fabulous.”
Tutty got the job eight years ago after she stopped working for Bowaters.
Last year she got artists such as George Canyon and Aaron Pritchett to donate articles of clothing, which are now on display at the museum.
Her job at the music centre has changed “dramatically” over the years.
She recalls a time when employees had to go up the street to access emails.
In April she started her own radio promotion business entitled, Lauren Tutty Promotions.
She has decided to leave her job at the Hank Snow Country Music Centre in order to run her business full time.
Tutty enjoys what she does and is looking forward to working from home.
She officially left her job at the Hank Snow Country Music Centre during the last week of September.
“I’m a huge country music fan,” she said. “I really enjoyed meeting all the musicians that volunteer their time and talents and helped us out.”
Tutty recalls being instrumental in bringing Hank Snow’s band to Liverpool in 2001.
She said it was also great to meet his wife.
The Hank Snow Country Music Centre opened in 1997.
Mainly focusing on classic country, Tutty said they are segwaying into newer country, adding, “I’ve always had a lot of passion for this place.”
Tutty wants to continue to be a part of the music centre.
She has chaired the Hank Snow Tribute for six years now.
“I loved doing that,” she said.
The level the museum has been brought up to is amazing, said employee Vina Moses.
Tutty also appreciates all the local businesses for their help and support over the years.
