Stability Ball Classes

October 4 Six-week stability/exercise ball classes. Start at beginner and work up to the intermediate level. Instructor: Cathy Bruce-West. Dates: Thursday evenings October 4 to November 8. Time: 7 to 8:15 p.m. Place: Lawrencetown Education Centre. Fee: $35. Spaces are limited. Please call 532-3144 to register.

Breakfast

October 6 Come enjoy breakfast at the Bridgetown Lion's Club from 8:30 to 11 a.m.,located on Church St. Free will offering. Come support the Lions.

Food Bank Fundraiser

October 6 The Bridgetown and Area Food Bank's Annual Thanks Giving Toll and Food Drop Off will take place on Saturday, Oct. 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of the Bridgetown Carwash on Granville Street. (Rain date is Saturday, Oct. 13.) Volunteers will be at the roadside ready to accept any donations of non-perishable foods or funds.

Bake Sale & Auction

October 6 A Fall Harvest Bake Sale and Auction will be held at the Inglisville Community Hall from 7 to 9 p.m. Various baked goods and harvest foods, along with other items will be auctioned off. Proceeds for the Helping Hands Ladies Group.

BRHS bottle drive

October 6 Please save all of your refundable bottles for the BRHS Band Parent Bottle Drive to be picked up during the morning of Oct. 6. If you are not able to be home, please leave bottles at the curb for pick up. Thank you for your support.

Buffet breakfast

October 7 Port George Men’s Club Breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Rec. Centre. Everyone welcome.

Skeet shoot

October 7 The Skeet Club will hold a shoot in Kingston with proceeds going to the Children’s Wish Foundation.

Brunch Special

October 7 Brunch Special, Sunday, Oct. 7 , starting at 12 noon at Queen of Heaven Annex on Church Street in Greenwood. In support of Victory Over Violence, Emergency Teen Shelter. Your support will help feed those who cannot feed themselves. Only $4. Sponsored by Knights of Columbus Greenwood Council. Pancakes, sausages, coffee, tea, juice. Everyone welcome. Trails Meeting

October 10 The Annapolis County Trails Society presents a public meeting at the Moschelle Community Hall on October 10 at 7 p.m. The future of the DNR trail will be discussed. All interested parties are urged to attend.

Charity Auction

October 11 There will be a charity auction of baked goods, fall harvest items and new crafts at the Foresters Hall in Clementsvale on October 11 at 7 p.m. There will be music by "Tilly & friends" Sponsored by the Clementsvale United Baptist Church. Proceeds go to the Annapolis Community Health Center. This event takes the place of door to door canvassing by the Health Center.

Good Morning Walk

October 11 Middleton’s Good Morning Walk & Talk – Join us for a Nutritious Breakfast, a Healthy Food Talk and a short group Walk. The session will focus on “Eating Out the Healthy Way.” Learn more ways to make your restaurant meal healthier without sacrificing taste. It will be held on Thursday, Oct. 11 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Middleton Fire Hall. The registration fee is $5. Space is limited; please pre-register by calling the Middleton Recreation Office at 825-6611.

Garden Club Meets

October 11 Champlain Garden Club meets Thursday, Oct. 11 at 7:30 p.m., United Church Annapolis Royal. Karen Achenbach, chief horticulturist at the Historic Gardens, will present a program on growing ornamental grasses. Info 532-0901.

Art from the Heart Dinner

October 11 The Town of Middleton, Macdonald Museum and local churches host the annual Heritage Dinner to be held at the Middleton Fire Hall on Thursday, Oct. 11 from 4:45 to 6:15 p.m. Live dinner music will be provided by Tom Berry. The full meal menu choices are Rappie Pie $8 and Creamed Lobster $10. No reservations are required but your order for dinner is done at the door. Art from the Heart

October 11-14 The Town of Middleton invites you attend Art from the Heart events celebrating Nova Scotia's rich cultural and artistic community. This year there are over 50 different stops and hundreds of art creations emerging into the spotlight. Pick up your own flyer from area businesses, note the many events as well as plan a visit to business and studio locations. Jam Sessions

October 12 Jam Sessions at the Clarence United Baptist Church from 7 to 10 p.m. and every Friday night. $2 admission includes refreshments. Everyone welcome to come and sing, play or just listen. Proceeds to the church.

Benefit Supper

October 13 Roast Beef Benefit Supper in Nictaux at the Middleton Lions Hall. Carousel

October 13 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Annapolis East Elementry School, Middleton. Booths for one and all, Chinese auction, lunch at the cafe, Fox Harbour Resort Raffle. Proceeds for SMH Hospital Equipment. Hosted by Greenwood, Middleton, Nictaux, Kingston and Lawrencetown Hospital auxiliaries.

Historic House Tour

October 13 The Village of Kingston's 50th anniversary committee is hosting an historic house tour and tea October 13 from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Six heritage homes of Kingston and area will be featured on the tour. The tea will be served by members of the Pine Ridge Middle School band. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the Kingston village office and Valley Drug Mart. AR Fire Dept. Fundraiser

October 13 The ARFD Auxiliary is holding its annual Harvest Pantry Sale, Saturday, Oct. 13. Harvest Sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Baked goods, produce, preserves, or monetary donation. 50/50 draw. Fire Prevention Activities start at 10 a.m. with hose rolling and fire truck rides to name a few. From 7 to10 p.m. is an evening music with Taylor Express, Alfie Bright, Curtis Chute & Friends -- to name a few. Special guest: Dr. George Allen. Proceeds from all events help support the Annapolis Royal Fire Dept.

Quality Auction

October 13 A Quality Auction is being held at the Annapolis Royal Legion Community Centre on Saturday, Oct. 13. This auction, with guest auctioneer Blaine Henshaw, will feature some very nice items… something you won’t want to miss.

October 14 Eden Golf and Country Club’s fall shareholders meeting starts at 2 p.m. in the Clubhouse.

Gospel Evening

October 14 There will be a sing-a-long Gospel evening at Bear River East Baptist Church, October 14 at 7 p.m. Come out and enjoy a fun-filled evening of praising our Lord. Refreshments to follow. Proceeds to go to the building fund.

October 14 The Annapolis Valley Men’s Gospel Choir will perform at the Mount Hanley Baptist Church at 7 p.m. Come and bring a friend.

Funds for Fuel

October 15 Funds for Fuel bridge party, Monday, Oct. 15 at 1:15 p.m. at Macdonald Museum, Middleton. Small admission, light lunch. Come out for an afternoon of fun and raise funds for the Museum.

Acoustic Jam

October 15 Acoustic Jam Sessions (except for bass fiddle) beginning at Cornwallis Park Community Centre October 15 - 7:30 p.m. Everyone welcome. Drop in to play or just listen.

Ham and Baked Beans

October 20 Inglisville Community Hall, ­ Saturday, Oct. 20 from 4 to 6 p.m. Join us for a ham and baked beans dinner. Adults $6, children (10 and under) $4.
