Patsy Cline tribute coming to Windsor Oct. 13
Patsy Cline’s natural talent and spirit took her to the top of the country charts in 1962 and though tragedy cut her career short, her style and popularity have never waned.
On Oct. 13 at 8 p.m., the Mermaid Imperial Performing Arts Centre will pay tribute to this legend with a special performance of Walkin’ After Midnight: A Tribute to Patsy Cline.
The incomparable Patsy Cline seduced a nation with her smooth, evocative sound with hits like “Crazy”, “I Fall to Pieces”, and “Walkin’ After Midnight”. Margot Sampson, known for her performances across Canada in the hit musical Just a Closer Walk with Patsy Cline, brings Patsy’s beautiful sound back to life. The musical director and band leader is Windsor native Greg Simm.
Margot started her journey with A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline in Stephenville, NL in 1991 and not long after was given the stamp of approval by Charlie Dick, Patsy’s husband, to perform as Patsy in other theatres across the country.
Margot was seen recently in Oliver at Neptune Theatre and in Eastern Front Theatre’s Singalong Jubilee.
