Friends of the Avon River’s (FAR) 51-foot-long banner protesting threats to fish species caused by the River’s siltation problems was stolen from private property upon which it was erected near the Falmouth exit of the 101. FAR member Sonya Wood (seen in the photo) expressed disappointment, saying, “people feel the need to destroy something of meaning to others. Shame on them. We have an endangered species that needs access to these waters.” Hants County RCMP is investigating the theft.
