Christmas Lights In Your Window

Oct. 1 at 8pm turn them on for the evening to show support for family and friends, caregivers who often feel isolated and invisible. Parent Info/Registration for Priva-Cheer Club

Oct. 3 at the Lions Hall, downstairs, 6:30-7:30pm. Cost $60 per session/2 sessions per year. Cheerleading will start Oct. 10. We have room for 30 children only.

RECREATION REPORT

Volunteer Food Handlers Course (non certification)

A Volunteer Food Handlers Course (non certification) will be held 6-9 p.m. Oct. 24 at Liverpool Lions Club Hall. This three-hour course provides volunteers with information about how to safely handle, prepare and serve food. This is an excellent course for groups who put on meals as fundraisers and is free of charge. To register, contact the Recreation Department at 354-5741 by Oct. 15.

Live Well In Motion

The Live Well in Motion program for 2007/2008 is having its information/registration session 7 p.m. Sept. 24 at the Trinity Parish Hall, Church Street, Liverpool. There will be a guest speaker, and the organizers will be explaining all the details of the program, and giving out information packages. If you are unable to attend, the information packages will be available at the Recreation Department (249 White Point Road, Liverpool), or at Pharmasave (Main Street, Liverpool) or at the North Queens Medical Centre (Highway #8, Caledonia). The grand prize draw at the end of the program is for 1,000 air miles, donated by Reynold's Pharmasave.

Fall Session Fitness Classes

Come out and enjoy Fitness Classes in Caledonia. Instructor Lisa Gallant will be holding classes beginning Sept. 25 and running through to Nov. 29 on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7-8 p.m. Classes will be held at the North Queens Rural High School gym. The cost is $45 for the entire session or a drop-in fee of $3 per class. Don't forget to bring your water!

Senior's Autumn Expo

The Autumn Expo being held 1 -4 p.m. Oct. 4 is offering seniors an enjoyable afternoon of socializing together and an opportunity to learn about programs, services and opportunities for seniors from various booths. The Expo will be held at the North Queens Nursing Home and is sponsored by the Region of Queens Municipality, the VON Queens County Branch, Queens Community Health Board, and the North Queens Community Health Centre.

Red Cross Assistant Water Safety Instructor Course (Age 15+)

This certification course is a pre-requisite to the Red Cross WSI course and covers: Instructional skills including teaching methods, learning styles, progressions, communication, safety supervision, and feedback. Certified AWSI can co-teach the Red Cross Swim programs under the supervision of a fully certified WSI. This is a 30-hour course, with an additional eight hours of practice teaching. Instructor: Jilien Beaton. Dates of course: Nov. 1, 4:30- 9:30 p.m. at White Point Beach Resort; Nov. 8, 4:30 - 9:30 p.m. at White Point Beach Resort; Nov. 10, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at Bridgewater Town Office; Nov. 12, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. in Bridgewater; and Nov. 15, 4:30-9:30 p.m. at White Point Beach Resort. Fees: TBA.
