Between Monday, Aug. 27, 2007 and Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007, Windsor District Detachment responded to a total of 157 calls for service.

Of these, there were 11 reports of false alarms and 13 reports of misdialed 911 calls. Police are still reminding everyone to be careful with the telephone. Real emergencies occur and the misdialed 911 calls tie up the 911 operators.

Police were kept busy in the motor vehicle traffic department. There were 25 complaints under the Motor Vehicle Act ranging from speeding to reckless driving. Nine motor vehicle collisions were investigated as well as four reports of impaired drivers. Police are investigating also a report of a stolen vehicle.

This time of year we sometimes get a lot of rain in a short period of time like we experienced Friday, Aug. 31. This can cause problems on our streets and highways especially with hydroplaning. So please slow down or pull off to the side of the road until the heaviest rain has passed. This makes it much safer for us all.

There were nine reports of theft, eight reports of damage to property and three reports of break and enter. Most of these are currently under investigation.

Police received four complaints under the Liquor Control Act, two reports of harassment, six reports of disturbing the peace, five complaints of uttering threats and three reports of assault.

Turning to the CrimeStoppers report, Windsor District RCMP is investigating the following crimes. Sometime overnight Tuesday, July 24, 2007 to Wednesday, July 25, 2007, two bundles of black shingles, a roll of tar paper, six 2"X4" boards and pieces of starter strips were stolen from the Rainbow Community Hall in Gormanville.

Thieves would have had to climb staging as the shingles were left on top of the staging. Between Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007 and Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2007 a driver’s side tail-light

was stolen off a 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited at Pothier Motors in Falmouth.

As well, between Aug. 28 and Aug. 29, someone stole a 3,000-watt King Generator and a 10-inch King compound mitre saw from a shed at a residence in

Hantsport.

Sometime overnight Friday. Aug. 31, 2007, damage was done to a Town of Windsor utility truck parked overnight on Thomas Street in the Windsor Community Centre parking lot. The front windshield had been smashed out by a beer bottle.

On Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007 around 11 p.m. a red SUV (4-Runner/Explorer type) lost control, ran off the road and struck a swing set at a residence on Willow Street in Hantsport. The vehicle then fled the scene. There should be extensive damage to the front end of this vehicle.
