August 26, 2007 to September 1, 2007 FOLEY, Hazel G.—94, of Queens Manor, Liverpool, formerly of Milton, passed away peacefully in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, Sunday, August 26, 2007. Born in New Grafton, she was a daughter of the late Gilbert and Gertrude (Hiltz) Shupe. Hazel was a housewife and mother and was formerly active in her church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis (Fred) Todd of Woodstock, ON; sons, Allan (Lillian) of Lower Branch and Peter (Donna) of Musquodobit Harbour; daughter-in-law Jean Panigi of Flint, Mich; step daughter-in-law, Shirley Foley of London, ON; brother, Edward of Caledonia; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Antonio Panigi; her second husband, Carl Foley; sons, Paul in infancy and Edward; step-daughters, Eleanor Huskins and Marion Dillman; step-son, Douglas; sisters: Muriel, Myrtle, Mildred, Dorothy and Beulah; brothers, Joseph and Aubrey. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. Funeral service was held Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007. Rev. Jennifer Garbin officiated. August 26, 2007 to September 1, 2007 John Herbert Davison, age 89, of Windsor, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2007, at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on June 3, 1918, in Woodville, Hants County, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late Charles and Margaret (Forrest) Davison. John was a mechanic by trade, and retired from McCarthy Motors, Windsor. He had previously worked at the Stanley Airport and at the Davison Garage, Ellershouse. John was a veteran of the Second World War, serving oversea with the RCAME. He loved music, and played for many years with his niece Muriel in the band "Melodie Aces". In later years, he enjoyed listening to his tapes of Downeast Music and spending Thursday mornings at Moe's Music Store. John enjoyed his cottage in Piggot Lake for many years and his trips to Florida in the motorhome. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, the former Evelyn Collicut; daughter, Sharon Brady, New Glasgow; grandchildren, Natalie and Nathan Brady; sister, Rita Lyttle, Hantsport; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Harold Davison, Arthur Davison, Howard Davison and George Davison; sisters, Laura Sisson and Annie Dearman; also by several nieces and nephews. Visitation was 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, August 28, in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor. Funeral service was 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2007, in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Garnet Parker officiated. Interment was held at Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor, followed by a reception at the Lindsay Family Reception Centre, 184 King Street. August 26, 2007 to September 1, 2007 DEVEAU, George William – 87, Dayton, Yarmouth Co., passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2007, in the manor. Born at home in Dayton on September 14, 1919 he was a son of the late William and Mary Rose (Deveau) Deveau. George served in the Royal Canadian Army from 1939-1945 during the second World War, in Newfoundland, Holland, Belgium, France, and Germany. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 61, Yarmouth for more than fifty years. George was involved in the Boy Scouts as both a member, early in life, and as a leader later on. He was employed at the Yarmouth Ice Cream and Dairy, J. Pink & Co., and finally with Canadian Pacific Express, an avid outdoorsman, George enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening, as well as dancing. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Dorothy “Dot” (Doucette) Deveau; sons, Paul (Carol), Neil (Claudette), and Stuart (Melanie); grandchildren, Theresa (Wayne Jr.) White, Steven (Jill), Mark (Laurie), Annette Deveau, Monique Deveau, Geline Deveau, Joshua Deveau, Gwenyth Deveau ; great-grandchildren, Regan White, Hannah White, Sydney Deveau, Cole Deveau ; a brother, Benoit (Florence). Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a infant son; a granddaughter, Sandra Deveau; brothers, Roy (in infancy), Dennis, Emile, Bernard, Adolphe, Roy; a sister, Agnes Muise. Visitation took place from 7-9 Tuesday, with a Royal Canadian Legion service at 7:30 PM, followed by prayers at 8 PM, all in H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert St., Yarmouth. The funeral mass was held at 2 PM, Wednesday, August 29 from Saint Ambrose Cathedral, Albert Street, Yarmouth, Father John MacPherson officiating. Interment followed in the Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Yarmouth. It has been requested that there be family flowers only. Born in Liverpool, she was the daughter of Hazel (Nickerson) and the late George Young. Dianne was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Besides her mother, she is survived by husband, Norman; daughters, Cathy (Donald) Shortliffe, Shelburne; Paula (Dennis) Foote, Lockeport; Joy (Dana) Peterson, West Green Harbour; sisters, Beverlee (Darrell) Williams, Lockeport; Shirley (Tracey) Jackson, Shelburne; Joy (Ivan) Scott, Bridgewater; Jill (Roddie) Townsend, East Green Harbour; Paulette Young, Shelburne; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Born on June 8, 1960, in Windsor, she was the daughter of Ellis and Elva (Saulnier) Redden of Windsor Forks. Carolyn was former owner of Aunt "T" Gift Shop, Brooklyn. Besides her parents Ellis and Elva, she is survived by a son, James (Kelly) Perry, Halifax; granddaughter, Lisa Marie Perry; sister, Valerie (John) Arnold, Welsford; brother, Quentin Redden, Windsor Forks; special sister-in-law, Louise Roach, Stewiacke, who helped and care for Carolyn, in her time of illness; she is also survived by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. She was predeceased by her husband, William "Billy" Joseph Perry (February 12, 2002). Visitation was 7-9 p.m. Thursday, August 30, in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor. August 26, 2007 to September 1, 2007 FRELLICK, Lloyd Sinclair—92, of Liverpool, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Queens Manor on Monday, August 27, 2007. Born September 23, 1914 in Hunt’s Point, Queens County, Lloyd was the son of the late Robie and Esther (Wagner) Frellick. Lloyd attended Maritime Business College, Halifax, NS. He spent three spring seasons as accountant with the lobster cannery at Drum Head, Guysborough Co., and a winter working in a lumber camp. Following this, he worked as accountant for Purdy Bros. Machinery Co. in Halifax for nine years after which he moved to Liverpool working as accountant for Thompson Bros Machinery Co. Ltd., which later became Steel and Engine Products Limited (STENPRO). Lloyd spent thirty-seven years with Stenpro as comptroller then as a member of the management group. He was trustee of Queens General Hospital for thirty-three years and spent fourteen years with the Queens General Hospital Foundation; nine of which he served as chairman. Lloyd was a member of the Chamber of Commerce for several years, the Kiwanis Club for over forty-five years and the Family History Group at Queens County Museum in later years. He was an elder of Zion United Church for twenty years and served on many committees. Lloyd was a kind, gracious, community-minded man who will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years the former Bessie “Bet” Myna Schurman; son John Sinclair (Gail DeWitt) of Riverview, NB; daughter Joan Elizabeth (Richard) Fralic of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren: Peter Frellick (Tracy Wallace) of Vancouver, BC; Susan Frellick (Gordon Perry and Lynn Frellick (Ronald Haslam), both of Summerside, PEI, Gregory (Theresa) Fralic of Waterloo, ON, Michael Fralic (Julie Hong) of Peterborough, ON; great grandchildren Jacob and Ella Rose Fralic of Waterloo, ON and Leigha Alexandra Haslam of Summerside, PEI. Lloyd was predeceased by an infant son Ronald Lloyd and sisters: Ruth Hutton and Irene Dixon. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, where funeral service was held Friday, August 31st, 2007. Jonathon Dixon officiated. August 26, 2007 to September 1, 2007 Allan Roger Gore – 42, of New Minas, passed away Monday, August 27, 2007 at home. Born in Toronto, he was a son of Darrell Kilmister, Toronto and Linda (John) Conway, Cornwallis, Digby County. He was also the step son of Robert Gore, Halifax. He had been employed with the Annapolis Valley Regional School Board and loved playing his guitar, music and fishing, especially with his step father. Allan was a sensitive and caring man who will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, the former Heather Oakley, Aylesford; a special friend, Gail Dodge, New Minas; a daughter, Chelsey Staling, Round Hill, Annapolis County; two brothers, Michael (Krista) Gore, Timberlea; Steven Kilmister, Digby; a half sister, Barbara Lynn (Jason) Brushett, Hammonds Plains; several other half siblings; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and extended family members. Visitation was held from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, August 30, 2007 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 31, 2007, Reverend Gerald Zinck officiated. An additional funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 31, 2007 in the Bear River United Baptist Church, Pastor Fred Bigelow officiated. Burial took place in the Sulis Cemetery, Smith’s Cove, Digby County. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Marie enjoyed dancing, listening to music, eating, traveling and spending time with her family.
