Giant shows Windsor wrestling fans you can’t become champ by lying, cheating
If there was ever any question in the minds of pro wrestling fans in the Windsor area, Giant Grimez has shown them you can’t become champion by lying or cheating, especially against a guy who’s seven-feet tall, 302 pounds.
Grimez defended his MainStream Wrestling Entertainment Championship successfully against Sidewalk Sam, accompanied by his Papi, in the first half of the double main event when MSW rolled into the Windsor War Memorial Community Centre with North America’s biggest independent wrestling tour, Sea Side Slam, Sunday evening, Aug. 26.
Similar to the night before in Digby, Sam panhandled fans outside the venue prior to the show, claiming to have quit drinking. However, when match time rolled around, an inebriated Sam staggered to the ring. He and Papi had used the money Sam collected to purchase alcohol.
Grimez took Sam to task for cheating the Hants County wrestling fans of their money and not using it for food or shelter as was intended. He ended up pinning Sam, just as he had the night before.
In the other main event, “X-Ray” Kyle Kruze defeated “The Bollywood Don” Harv Sihra, Scott Savage and “The Boston Bad Boy” Jason Rumble, a three-time former NWA Light Heavyweight Champion of the World and former TNA star, in a Fatal Four-Way match. Kruze defended his MSW Atlantic Canadian Championship and his Century Wrestling Alliance Cruiserweight Championship successfully in the contest.
Kruze and Savage received byes into the main event, but Rumble had to qualify by defeating “The French Sensation” Alexander North in a previous encounter and Sihra qualified by defeating Blue River.
“Lumber” Jack Johnson, with “Woody”, and the Maritime Menace continued their bitter rivalry in Windsor, squaring off in a falls-count-anywhere match contested under hardcore rules. Menace was victorious in the end.
Reporter Nadine Armstrong and reporter Kirk Starratt, who hosted the show in his role as ring announcer “Captain” Kirk, captured the following video footage. *
*It’s important to note that the wrestlers perform in the spirit of entertainment, not in the spirit of violence or irresponsibility. Everyone appearing in the following footage has years of highly specialized training and nothing shown should be mimicked or re-enacted by anyone who is not a trained professional wrestler.
