Kings fire lines - as of Aug. 27
The Waterville and District Fire Department has answered eight alarms over the past couple of weeks.
August 7 at 8:45 a.m., crews received an alarm at Central Kings High School. It turned out to be work being done on the system. Crews returned at 9:16.
August 8 at 17:13, firefighters were called to a residential alarm in a Cambridge subdivision. Crews were on scene until 17:45.
August 10’s first call came in at 11:33 for mutual aid to Kentville for a barn fire in Lakeville. It turned out to be a controlled burn that got out of hand. Crews and equipment were back at 12:49. Later the same day, another mutual aid call was made to Kentville at 16:34 for a grass fire in Centerville. Crews returned a short time later.
August 12 at 14:48, the department was called to a medical emergency on Joudrey Mountain Road. Paramedics were on scene and cancelled firefighters at 14:52. Later, at 21:22, crews responded to a mutual aid call to Kentville to stand in. Crews returned at 22:29.
August 18 at 23:53, Waterville answered a medical emergency on Highway 1 in Waterville, returning just after midnight.
August 24 at 14:16, the department was dispatched to provide mutual aid to Aylesford for a house fire. The tanker went to the scene and a pumper stoodin. Kentville was called to stand in for Waterville. Crews were back at 16:00.
