Two drivers may be facing charges following a collision near Deep Brook. The driver of a car collided with a logging truck that was backing up. The investigation continues and charges may follow.
The Annapolis RCMP responded to 80 calls for assistance during the week of August 13 through August 18. Included in these calls were six false 911s; six motor vehicle accidents; and four false alarms. There were no reported incidents of domestic violence. Following are highlights of these calls:
-- August 13 at 12:50 p.m. A Granville Beach caller reported receiving threats.
-- August 13 at 2:01 p.m. Police were called to a motor vehicle accident in Bridgetown involving two vehicles. No injuries were reported.
-- August 13 at 4:52 p.m. A caller reported an attempted break and enter in Lawrencetown, after finding evidence that someone had tried to gain entry into a property.
-- August 13 at 7:25 p.m. Police were called to a motor vehicle accident in Deep Brook after a motorist went in the ditch as a result of an over correction. The vehicle rolled over and landed on its roof. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
-- August 14 at 00:16 a.m. Police were called to a single vehicle accident on Parker’s Mountain Rd. No major injuries were reported, but EHS staff assessed the occupant as a precaution. Weather conditions are believed to have played a part in the incident.
-- August 14 at 3:04 a.m. Police received a report of a suspicious person in Middleton, after a resident witnessed an unknown individual trying to gain entry to a property through the backdoor.
-- August 14 at 6:55 a.m. A Springfield resident reported a complaint of property damage after tires had been slashed.
-- August 14 at 12:40 p.m. One male was arrested in Bridgetown for breech of probation. He has been remanded to custody until his court appearance in September.
-- August 14 at 2:10 p.m. Police received a report of dangerous driving on Hampton Mountain Rd.
-- August 14 at 6:53 p.m. Police received a report of a theft from a roadside stand in Moschelle. Money and produce were taken during the incident.
-- August 15 at 8:37 a.m. Police charged an individual with illegal possession of liquor.
-- August 15 at 11:13 Police were asked to assist a parent locate a nine-year-old child in Upper Clements. The child was found.
-- August 15 at 1:18 p.m. Police were called to Highway 101 near Lequille to deal with a traffic hazard. Several round hay bales had fallen in the road. A front-end loader was located and the hay was removed.
-- August 16 at 00:05 a.m. Police were called to Meadowvale in response to a complaint of disturbance of the peace. A party was banging on trailers and causing damage. A patrol was made, but the offending party had left.
-- August 16 at 11:35 a.m. A Lequille resident reported a complaint of theft under $5,000 after discovering a set of garden lights was missing.
-- August 16 12:40 p.m. Police were called to Allain’s Creek on a complaint of breech of probation. One male was arrested and taken to court in Windsor. He was remanded into custody until his bail hearing in Digby.
-- August 16 at 1:19 p.m. A caller reported that a large cow was in the road in Brooklyn. A patrol was made, but no cow was located.
-- August 16 at 1:30 p.m. Police were called to investigate a report of an industrial accident in Carlton Corner. EHS staff was called off once investigators determined it was a minor incident.
-- August 16 at 1:40 p.m. A cow was reported missing in Bridgetown. The cow was later located.
-- August 16 at 3:30 p.m. A Middleton resident turned in a found wallet. The owner was contacted and the item was returned.
-- August 16 at 10:52 p.m. A Middleton caller reported a driver was operating a vehicle in an erratic manner. The car was stopped in Aylesford with five female occupants.
-- August 17 at 4:45 p.m. Police were called to a traffic hazard in Brickton after a tree had blown down and over the road as a result of the storm.
-- August 17 at 10:47 a.m. Police were called to a traffic accident in Wilmot. A driver lost control and was forced off the road by an 18 wheeler.
-- August 17 at 2:11 p.m. Police were called to a hit and run in Middleton at the hospital parking lot. Minor property damage occurred.
-- August 18 at 8:29 a.m. Police were called to investigate a report of two males fighting. One male was arrested in Waldec for possession of a weapon and uttering threats. He was taken to cells and later released.
-- August 18 at 4:10 p.m. Police received a report of a driver speeding in Bridgetown. The driver was charged under the Motor Vehicle Act.
-- August 18 at 8:09 p.m. Police received a report of missing persons in West Dalhousie after three males failed to return from a fishing trip. Three more males were dispatched to find the first group and did not return as expected. All six were eventually were found to be safe.
