Two major applications in the works

The herbicide spray season is underway in Nova Scotia with several applications for forest in Annapolis County. In the following 39 locations in Annapolis and Digby counties, under one application, approval was still pending as of late last week. The area name is followed by the number of hectares. The spray start date is expected to be around August 15.

The total area expected to be sprayed is 1491.143 hectares with 1422.980 sprayed from the air and 68.163 sprayed from the ground. Herbicides to be used are Vision 19899, Forza 26401, and Vantage 26884.

Applications are made to the Department of Environment and Labour.

The following locations in Annapolis, Digby, and Yarmouth counties, also under a single application, are also pending approval for spraying which could begin on or before August 23. Total area to be sprayed is 271.1 hectares, all from the air. Vision 19899 will be used.
