The court has sentenced a Greenwood man to federal time for trafficking crack cocaine.
Judge Claudine MacDonald sentenced Bernard Allen Shaw, 50, in Kentville provincial court Wednesday, Aug. 8, to two years in a federal penitentiary for trafficking in crack cocaine, a Schedule I drug under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).
She also sentenced Shaw to three months in custody each for two counts of trafficking in cannabis marijuana, a Schedule II drug under the Act.
The sentences are to be served concurrently with the federal time.
As well, MacDonald sentenced Shaw to 15 days in custody, also concurrent, for failing to comply with an undertaking.
Shaw committed the first marijuana trafficking offense in Greenwood Feb. 21, 2006, and the second and the crack cocaine offenses Feb. 23, 2006.
Shaw breached the undertaking in Greenwood May 20, 2006. He pleaded guilty to the charges May 3.
